Today we’d like to introduce you to Janae Wason.
Hi Janae, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I moved from my hometown Milwaukee, Wisconsin in August 2021. I moved with my boyfriend with no job; just a plan to go to school. Upon moving, I went straight to beauty school to pursue a license in esthetics. I graduated in April 2022 with my license. After finishing school, I couldn’t find a beauty industry job, so I applied for H-E-B an got hired. Through much searching, 7 months later, I finally got a job offer at European Wax Center, while still working for H-E-B. With being employed with the company for only 5 months, I knew that something was better for me so I stepped out on my own with no guidance. Still employed at H-E-B, I realized I didn’t have enough experience to step out on my own. I then found another beauty industry job at Hello Sugar. After being employed with them for 5 months as well, I finally realized I was ready because I didn’t feel appreciated enough at these chain companies. Still keeping H-E-B as a safe backup, I found my own studio and began to build up my clientele. Throughout that time, I was grateful enough to have found a mentor to guide me through this world of business. Things started to align itself and get a little better over time. Here we are now in May of 2025 and I’ve officially made 1 year & 5 months in business with much learning and growing still to be done!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. At times I wanted to move back home because I was in such an unfamiliar setting. At times I wanted to just quit business and go back working full time for someone else. Then I had to remember what was my reasoning for moving and changes careers so abruptly at the age of 25. What honestly kept me going is the potential that others constantly saw in me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Beauty by Naeture LLC was founded in 2023. I specialize in waxing and sugaring professional hair removal. What sets me apart from others is the comfortable and personable character that I have. My urge to learn new things and bring new things into my business, while also educating my clients. I do a lot of trial and error on myself before I introduce things to my clients to make sure I’m exceeding expectations. I’m proud of myself for bringing such a small vision to life and deciding to succeed in it. I want the readers to know that when they step into my treatment room they’ll feel right at home. I pride myself in my customer service and the client experience. I want them to get an experience that they can’t get anywhere else because of the vibe I bring to the room.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a very social, creative person. I never had an issue making friends or having people gravitate towards me. I had an interest in many different things. I always took care of my business and had goals for myself. I grew up with many siblings and a blended family. I never thought I would be in the beauty industry because I had a love for design.
