Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My business idea came to me as an unexpected divine download. After I lost my successful career as a Design Director, I heard God say to put my personal poetry on t-shirts. It didn’t make sense to my ego, but I went for it because I had nothing to lose since I lost my job and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. And so my entrepreneurial journey began. I did not have a master plan. My journey has all been organic. One faithful step forward at a time. I sold my poetic t-shirts online and in local boutiques to empower women to own their power and beauty from the inside out. I even got into Houston Fashion Week. Everything came full circle to where I am today using all my branding, marketing, design and style experience to help introverted leaders own their quiet voice and fierce power to build brands that make a big impact.
What I have learned on my path is that there is purpose for everything. As an introvert, I was bullied growing up for being so quiet. So I thought that being quiet was something I had to get over. But through my journey, I learned that being an introvert is truly a gift and to celebrate my quiet power. I am honored to be divinely chosen to help more introverts become the impactful quiet leaders they are born to be. When I look back at my journey, I see that the name of my business was divinely appointed. Dawning Soul – to have infinite opportunities for your spirit to evolve again and again.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My entrepreneurial journey was not an easy road, but it brought me back home to myself. My path was truly a courageous and continual act of faith. Because I lost my successful career and suffered from chronic pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis, I knew in my heart that I couldn’t continue living my life in the same way. I was giving away my power by defining my self-worth by things outside of me like my job and self-image. I was a perfectionist, workaholic and control freak. I knew instinctively that I had to save my own life. So I had to learn to surrender to the process and allow myself to be divinely guided by God one faithful step at a time.
My entrepreneurial journey required me to remain unwaveringly present in order to continually evolve from the inside out. As I faced each challenge, I was ushered into a new level of self-awareness, wisdom and success. I am proud of myself for having the vision, faith and fortitude to have come so far to become the woman I am today. I have become a more whole human being with a deep appreciation for the awe-inspiring magnificence of life.

Who has played a big role in my success are God, my Mom, my Dad, Brother, my dear friend Jaleh and the Love of my Life, Dez. Without my faith in God, I could not have taken this entrepreneurial journey which has deeply transformed me and brought me back home to my Spirit. With my Mom’s unconditional love and support, I have the unshakable belief to follow my heart. Even though my Dad passed away 9 years ago, his powerful presence continues to give me the courage to follow my dreams and make a lasting and impactful legacy. My Brother’s steadfast commitment to our family continues to create a strong foundation to bravely grow from. My dear friend, Jaleh helped me to see the true power of being gentle and kind with myself.
