Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnny Johnson.
Hi Johnny, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well, originally I am a product of Galveston, Texas! But I’ll start with high school & my love for the game of football, which fueled my fitness journey up until this point. As a Jr in 2001 in Austin, Texas I was tested amongst the entire football team in which I ended up ranking as the 6th strongest athlete out of 40+ Athletes. With that achievement at 170lbs, I started to take fitness more serious understanding that I would need to build strength & take care of the body if I wanted to compete on the collegiate elite level. Unfortunately, my Sr year life changed drastically and I lost it all and became labeled as a felon before graduation in 2003.
Skip to August 2006 moving back to Galveston I was a passenger in a very vicious & near fatal auto accident on I-10 hwy in which the vehicle flipped over and exploded in which I and the driver survived but we were in gruesome shape. Though I was banged up and partially disfigured the Dr. stated that at that time it was a good thing. I worked out and was in good shape so God & fitness played a major part in saving my life.
Skip to 2015, I decided to step on a stage and compete in a physique competition to see if I can show some type benefits & accomplishments of always working out and also challenge myself & build discipline after time in the streets participating in activities that weren’t great health decisions. Shortly after my competition, I went homeless for a small period of time.
2016, I was able to bounce back again and pick up personal training & start a summer boot camp in which I gained 25+ paying clients in Galveston county area, that was also when I stepped away from training and knew I wanted to stay involved in fitness… but wasn’t sure how or what… skip to 2020 COVID-19 and The vision came to me as SAVAGE AESTHETICS FITNESS BRAND!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My life has been a constant struggle and journey of experiences at the bottom and several super bounce backs to the top. I’ve been a passenger in 2 wrecks where the vehicles flipped. Shot. Down on luck, Back stabbed by loved ones, Been a single father raising a 10 year old son since 2011, living similarly to Will Smith in that movie Pursuit of Happiness. My Son was my light and my change in life for the better, my mentality before kids was a path to destruction things were dark. To be honest, FITNESS & FISHING was and is still therapy for me. But no matter how bad situations got for me I still continue to help and uplift others, I know not to blame anyone for my life’s growing pains… I keep my mind right and figure it out like a G!

I actually have an active signature shoe collaboration online and in store in New York! I am not a celebrity nor a ballplayer. I represent Galveston, Texas so when you see that item on someone’s feet, that’s a major accomplishment in my eyes for my area, my people who stand with me, my family, my kids! Whether they understand it or not!
