Inspiring Conversations with Juhina Farooki of Aura Holistic and Metaphysical Wellness Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juhina Farooki

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a business owner. I grew up in Illinois and I found my way to Texas after graduating high school. My parents were always in the beauty industry, my dad owns salons in California, and my mom had her own small spa business she would run out of our home growing up. Going back to my roots, my Grandma was also a business owner in India, she would make home-made traditional snacks and sell them and sell eggs she would get from her chickens. Being an entrepreneur is part of who I am at my core. I grew up to be a Registered Dietitian. I did do my own private nutrition counseling business along with working with large hospital systems and doctors. My background is in Functional Nutrition and I work really closely with Dr. Anh Hoang, MD who is an exceptional functional medicine doctor, her practice is called Pine Forest Functional Medicine in Shenandoah, TX. I went through a bitter sweet time in my life in 2022, which ended up becoming a catalyst for my healing journey. I faced my childhood wounds and insecurities, I journaled, I found my spirituality, and found peace in prayer. A lot of people call this journey a spiritual awakening. I knew I wanted to start and health and wellness center with spa services. I just did not know how to start. My very close family friend, who is like a sister to me, Sumera started a holistic wellness center with Stacey, our business partner and now dear friend. When I went to visit back home and I saw Aura in Illinois I knew right away I was meant to open this in Texas and that is when my entrepreneurship journey with Sumera and Stacey started. Now we have Aura Holistic and Metaphysical Wellness Center in Spring TX.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like in any business there were challenges and struggles. Finding the right location took a year. Getting a loan can be difficult. Also, marketing and becoming known in the area takes time, patience, and resilience. The thrill of being a business owner comes continuously engaging in personal growth as well. Overcoming variety of emotions, learning to think clearly, all of it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
