Inspiring Conversations with Julie Joy of Joyful Spreads LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Joy.

Hi Julie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My love for cheese and charcuterie began about four years ago as a simple hobby. I enjoyed creating boards for gatherings with friends and family, just for fun. Over time, they began encouraging me to turn it into a business, seeing potential I hadn’t fully considered myself. After reflecting on how much I genuinely loved the process, I decided to take their advice.

With their help, I brainstormed and eventually landed on a name that incorporates my last name, Joy, which felt both personal and meaningful. Through prayer and discernment, I also felt a strong sense that the Lord was inviting me to take this step. From there, everything began to come together and that’s how I got to where I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been entirely a smooth road, there have definitely been both highs and lows along the way. One of the biggest challenges has been learning to trust and rely on God to provide the right clients and opportunities for my business.

At the same time, I’ve been balancing this work with my full-time graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with my internship, which has been demanding. Managing all of that hasn’t always been easy, but interestingly, my business has also served as a creative outlet and a source of joy during such a rigorous season of life.

We’ve been impressed with Joyful Spreads LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in creating elevated charcuterie experiences for a variety of occasions, from intimate gatherings to larger events. I focus on thoughtfully curated boards and grazing tables that not only taste incredible but also serve as a visual centerpiece. Each arrangement is designed with intention, blending high-quality ingredients with an eye for detail and presentation.

What sets my brand apart is the level of care and personalization I bring to each order. I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach, every board is tailored to the client, the event, and the overall vision. I also incorporate a sense of warmth and meaning into my work, which is reflected even in my brand name, Joy. It’s not just about food, it’s about creating moments of connection, celebration, and beauty.

One of the things I’m most proud of is building a brand that feels both elevated and personal. I want my clients to feel seen and cared for, and I want each experience to leave a lasting impression.

Ultimately, I want readers to know that my business offers more than just charcuterie, it offers an experience. Whether it’s a small gathering or a special event, my goal is to bring people together in a way that feels intentional, beautiful, and full of joy.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would just encourage readers not to overlook the things they genuinely enjoy or feel naturally drawn to. What started as something small and personal for me turned into something much bigger than I expected. Taking that first step can feel intimidating, but it can also open doors you didn’t even know were there.

I’m also incredibly grateful for the support system that encouraged me along the way and for the opportunity to serve others through my business. It’s been meaningful to create something that brings people together and adds a special touch to their moments.

At the end of the day, my hope is that what I create leaves people not only satisfied, but feeling cared for and celebrated.
