Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristian Cormier.
Hi Kristian, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been into hair extensions such as braids & sew ins, but they would always damage and break my natural hair a lot. Eventually, I began to research different types of wigs because they’re a noninvasive protective style, I figured my hair would grow better with them. I looked up how to make wigs, how to install them, and everything you can imagine asking about wigs I was researching it!
In 2019, I hand sewed & installed my first wig. I can honestly say, it came out really good for my first one. I was working at a sports bar at the time with an all-girls staff and literally, all my co-workers were loving my hair and asking me so many questions about it. They told me I should sell my work and as my confidence and skills grew, I realized I was talented enough to be successful in the hair industry.
In June 2020, K Posh Wig Boutique was born. I had so much support from friends, family, and mutuals on social media. Now that I look back on it, I made and sold lots of wigs during quarantine.
Fast forward to November 2021, I’m going all in with K Posh Wig Boutique & my audience/engagement grows everyday. My website is launching in January and I have exciting plans to take my business to the next level. It’s an exciting time for my K Posh brand!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The biggest challenge I’ve come across thus far is trusting the process, and being patient for results. Starting a business from scratch is definitely a mental game. I was consistently marketing and posting on social media and started getting nervous about whether or not it was working. The truth is, even if your content is getting 0 likes, people are always watching.
Even with a high level of ambition and consistent hard work, it’s tough to keep going when you feel like nobody is listening. I’ve learned to keep pressing forward because even small steps are more than no steps. Setting short term goals and long term goals have helped me to focus and celebrate each time I reach one. I have no regrets and I’m ready to take my place in this industry.

K Posh Wig Boutique is a luxury wig line established in Houston, TX. I specialize in custom made wigs, crafted with high quality hair extensions and unique color combinations. My wigs come ready to wear as soon as you open the box! I style and customize them for each client before they’re shipped out. All women who purchase my wigs appreciate the quality and attention to detail that is characteristic in each one. They enjoy feeling and looking beautifully luxurious in their K Posh wig and I’m proud to have many repeat clients.
I believe what sets me apart as a wig designer is my work ethic and attention to detail. If I wouldn’t wear it, I won’t make it for anyone else and expect them to pay their hard earned money for it. My wigs are a step above in luxury and service because I understand that all women want to feel and look beautiful everyday. I’m passionate about my business and I’m working hard to solidify my brand’s position in the hair industry.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is middle school when my friends would always come over and we’d go to the mall trying to act cool. A lot of my friends lived within walking distance so we’d just hang outside till it got dark. It’s not a super crazy or detailed memory but those are the times I reminisce about the most! Everything was so simple!
