I founded A1 Landscaping in 2024 with a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to hard work, integrity, and attention to detail. As a Houstonian with hands-on experience in landscaping and construction, I’ve always enjoyed creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces that add value to homes.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—growth always comes with challenges. The biggest struggle has been navigating expansion while maintaining financial stability. Striking the right balance between investing in growth and avoiding overspending has been a learning process. Deciding where to allocate funds—whether for equipment, trucks, trailers, or wage increases—can be difficult, especially when every choice impacts the business’s future.
There’s always a certain level of fear when it comes to taking on debt or making big financial decisions, but I’ve learned that hesitation can be just as risky as a wrong move. Freezing in place gets you nowhere, so I’ve focused on trusting my instincts and making calculated decisions to keep moving forward. No matter how big or small the challenge, persistence and adaptability have been key to overcoming it.
