Today we’d like to introduce you to Maranda Evans
Hi Maranda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began when I was a teenager suffering from the loss of my father, abuse, and mental illnesses. As a teenager, I acted out but as I became older I realized my pain was for a greater purpose. I started as an author of my first book, Troubled, then went on to write three more books and became a publisher. My accounting career started in 2015, when I was working for the owners of over 40 Smoothie King Stores. My nonprofit, The Troubled Movement, was founded October 5, 2016 during my last semester of graduate school at Texas Southern, and I became a Certified CBT Life Coach in 2024.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe no road worth walking is smooth. There will always be hurdles and trials along the way. Most of mine were financial. I didn’t have adequate funds to grow my businesses or my nonprofit so I went into debt. The other part of it was trying to battle Bipolar II Disorder and PTSD while building what I consider empires. My anger issues would often get in the way of my success, but with God, therapy, and medication, I have overcome those tribulations.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Elemental Growth Mindset, our mission is to empower individuals to unlock their full potential, overcome challenges, and achieve personal growth through evidence-based techniques grounded in Cognitive Behavior. We strive to provide compassionate support, practical guidance, and personalized strategies that foster lasting positive change in our clients’ lives. I became certified in CBT Life Coaching in 2024. I was already helping others through motivational speaking, but I wanted to do more. I am most proud of my ability to really help people and hold them accountable with reaching their goals and helping them create positive mindsets.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Everything I’ve done/will do is a risk. My family and friends will tell you I am quick to start a new business. I already have 3, a YouTube channel, and a nonprofit and I see more in my future. There’s a big risk when it comes to being an entrepreneur because your income depends on consumers instead of a company. However, if there is something you want to do that hasn’t been done, then you must do it. It’s worth the risk.
