Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Mayuri Appareddy of Kids 360 Pediatric Dentistry.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a pediatric dentist, I live in a world of sugar bugs, tooth fairies, singing, and dancing! I love serving the children of my community, and my team and I truly want to make each dental visit a FUN experience!
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2010 and continued on to New York City to complete three years of residency in General Practice as well as in Pediatric Dentistry.
I am a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and have been in private practice since 2013. My husband and his career moved us from New York City to St. Louis, MO to Houston, where we’ve now put down roots for the past 8 years. We are in love with Houston!
Many of my years in private practice were spent working for other dentists in St. Louis, MO and in the Greater Houston area. In 2018, I also had the opportunity to work as an attending at Texas Children’s Hospital’s Dental Clinic where I cared for medically complex and special needs patients. I also had the experience of teaching pediatric dental residents during this time. I still maintain privileges at Texas Children’s Hospital, where I continue to see patients for dental surgery under general anesthesia.
In 2019, I took the plunge and fulfilled by dream of opening my own practice in the Harvest Green neighborhood of Richmond, TX! I opened the doors to Kids 360 Pediatric Dentistry less than a year after becoming a new mom, and I’ve always considered my practice as “my second baby.” My first name “Mayuri” means “Peacock” in Sanskrit, which is why I chose the peacock for our logo!
We hope to serve the Harvest Green, Aliana, and surrounding communities of Richmond, Sugar Land, Katy, and Houston for many years to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening a new business has, of course, had its challenges–especially since my practice opened five months before COVID shutdown! Navigating new motherhood while learning how to run a business has been a delicate balance as well, but I would not change a minute of this journey.
Motherhood has also given me a new perspective on dentistry. I am so honored by the trust that parents place in me and in my team to care for the most precious people in their lives. I have connected with the families in my practice and am in awe of their selfless love and dedication to their children. I am glad to be a small part of my patients’ lives and am already seeing them grow (too quickly)!
Kids 360 has grown significantly in our three years of business, and I owe that to my incredible team and to my family. They have always believed in me and in our practice. Each day we work to fulfill our vision: To make every patient feel like the most important person we saw that day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Making our patients feel special has always been our #1 priority. We have a small, close-knit team–many of whom are mothers–who have incredibly big hearts. Our patients and their parents feel warmth and kindness from the moment they enter our office. We want for our patients and their families to feel comfortable with us, and I enjoy collaborating with parents to put together a treatment plan that is custom-tailored to each individual child.
Kids 360 Pediatric Dentistry provides comprehensive pediatric dental care in a beautiful, colorful, state of the art practice. We are family-owned and see patients from infancy through adolescence.
Some of our services include:
First Dental Visits
Dental Exams, Cleanings, and Xrays
Tongue and Lip Tie releases with a CO2 laser
Dental treatment with Laughing Gas, Sedation and General Anesthesia
White Zirconia Crowns
Treatment of Patients with Special Needs
…And Much More!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My colleagues and fellow business owners have been a blessing for me. I have learned so much from them as we’ve gone through our individual journeys in growing our businesses. They have also made business ownership feel less lonely!
I have known many of these people for years or have met them through mutual friends. However, Facebook groups are also a wonderful resource!
