Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Johnson.
Hi Michelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’m Michelle J. 38 years old born and raised on Houston’s Southside. I am daily seeking after GOD and striving to become a better me and fulfill his will for my life as I am nothing without GOD. I am a very reserved, yet outgoing, structured, dedicated, compassionate, kind, loving, observant, goofy, and very transparent individual. I am me in the flesh no sugar-coating is needed. Lol. I have two boys for whom is my day-to-day motivation outside of GOD to keep going and my way to life. I love music especially real RnB, not this music they have today with no meaning. Lol. I love going to concerts, plays, the movies, bowling and just enjoying my peace at home. I am a serial entrepreneur with 5 businesses and I have my own brand “Michelle J” which focuses on GOD, transitioning in life, overcoming and conquering, embracing and scaling to the next level I have experienced and challenged life from growing up in a home with both parents till the age of 9 and after they divorced then being raised by my mom in a single parent home, to being molested/raped by a family member, to have to stay with family when my mom was ill, bad/abusive friendships/relationships, self issues, physical and mental incarceration, being diagnosed with Lupus in 2008, the death of my son’s father, the death of my dad, just life itself.
As a young child, I have seen my mom overcome physical, and mental illnesses and many challenges while still caring and providing for our household and holding her own as a single mother, not to exclude that my dad was still an active parent in my life but things definitely changed when they divorced but only to say it was what was best at the time and for better. At the age of 15, I took it upon myself to help my mom and take more initiative, and helped out with the well-being and overhead of our household. I graduated from Madison High School and attended and graduated from HCC and TSU. I am not going to say I have always made the right or best decisions but I have always acted based on the options and choices I had and did what was best for me and my family. I have dealt my hand in street life, I have dealt my hand in corporate America, and I have been incarcerated twice but in spite of those decisions and choices I did not let that define who I am and where I can go in life. I wouldn’t be who I am today unless I went through the decisions, choices, obstacles, challenges, ups/downs, losses/gains of life to develop me better into the person I am today and continue to grow and transition in my journey as GOD sees fit for me. I founded MWG Financial Solutions & Tax Services, LLC. alongside William G. In 2008 with the idea of giving others a second chance, especially knowing firsthand what a second chance can mean and do for someone’s life. In today’s world, many have experienced economic and life hardships while being judged based on their past mistakes. I am a strong believer in incorporating adversities into opportunities and that with GOD all things are possible if you simply trust the process. My goal is to provide services to individuals and businesses to help them learn, gain, attain and retain life skills, cognitive skills, financial freedom, and individual and business prosperity while structuring their life for a better foundation and future. Through business and financial consulting, resources, knowledge, cognitive skills, and life skills, I set out to help others to accomplish the ideas, visions, and goals they have set for themselves or the opportunities that are for them. As my motto is “Take One Day At A Time and Make It Make Sense” as “We can stand for the change that we can become and do anything in life and nothing can limit our opportunities”.
At the beginning and end of the day, I just want to get in order and fulfill GOD’s will for me and continue to help lead those to seek GOD and his will and what GOD has in store for us all. I just want to provide opportunity, structure, help, balance, and bring awareness to the core reality of life to live a better life for what it is worth.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would be living if I say it was all peaches in cream, but the truth and core reality are that in order to grow in life you have to go through life which is to experience obstacles, challenges, hardships, setbacks, losses, and become uncomfortable.
Some of my obstacles or challenges have been molestation to rape, my own wrongful decisions, and choices that lead to incarceration, the death of my son’s father, the death of my own father, my diagnosis with lupus, the ups and downs of friendships/relationships/business to life itself. Life has definitely taught me life is what you make it and create.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up being an only child by my mom in a single-parent home I have always been quiet yet reserved. My personality can be outgoing, I am goofy and always see life for what it was but make the best out of it. Out of all my friends, I think I am the youngest but was always that mother figure and always had the best interest in mind for everyone.
When I speak friends I don’t use that word loosely so I am talking 25 plus years with my friends. I have also been one to challenge life so I took chances and may have been quote-on-quote sneaky at the time lol… but in my mind, everything is not for everyone to know or be a part of especially if they were not ready so I would call my sneaky a need to know basis. Growing up, I definitely had some fun times and experienced something at an early age, but I wouldn’t change anything.
