Inspiring Conversations with Najla A Abu-Shaaban of Abu-Shaaban Law Office

Today we’d like to introduce you to Najla A Abu-Shaaban.

Hi Najla A, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from law school in 2008 and quickly joined a small boutique firm to learn the business and also to gain first-hand experience with cases and clients. I knew my goal was to open up my own practice. I then worked for a few energy companies. I have now opened up my practice so I can start taking in the cases I love and cases I want to work on.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been a lot of obstacles starting with the market recession of 2008, which is the year I graduated from law school, Funny enough, I graduated college in 2003, another market recession. It took me a while to gain the courage to go out on my own, It has been great since I made that final decision.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Abu-Shaaban Law Office?
I practice wills, trusts, and estates law, immigration law and contracts law. I will be honest with the client at all times, without exception. I speak Arabic fluently which helps me communicate with the growing community all over the country.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The number one best thing I love about our city is the people and the diversity. The thing I like least about our city is the traffic.
