Laguna Auto Detail really came to life when I finally got my custom-built 2022 Ford Bronco—after waiting a full year due to pandemic-related supply chain issues. I was determined to keep it looking pristine, but nothing on the market quite met my standards. That search ended up sparking an entirely new dream: to create my own line of detailing products that deliver professional-grade results while remaining accessible to anyone who loves their car as much as I do.
Starting Laguna was a leap into uncharted territory—I had no background in sales or entrepreneurship—but I was committed to building something truly meaningful not only for myself but for the community I care about. Today, we’re much more than a product line: we’ve expanded to offer professional detailing services that uphold the same level of excellence our products promise. We’ve also become a familiar face in Houston’s car community, connecting with exotic car clubs and participating in local shows.
One of my proudest milestones has been partnering with The Shop Club here in Houston, where our entire lineup is trusted to maintain their members’ vehicles. Seeing Laguna products in such a respected setting reaffirms our dedication to excellence in everything we do. At Laguna, we believe caring for your vehicle is a choice, not a chore—it’s about preserving memories, embracing adventure, and celebrating the individuality that makes every car special. This philosophy has guided us from the very beginning and continues to drive us as we expand our offerings and serve our ever-growing community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to building Laguna Auto Detail has been anything but smooth, yet every bump has been a lesson. As a first-time entrepreneur, I’ve had my fair share of ‘What am I doing?’ moments. The scariest day so far? Easily the day after we launched. I spent nine months in research and development—learning about the chemicals we use, navigating regulatory compliance, and shaping a vision for the brand—and now we were live, ready for the world. I had no idea what to do next, and it was equal parts thrilling and terrifying.
The challenges have also been opportunities to grow—not just as a business owner, but as a person. It’s been a steep learning curve, but through it all, one thing has kept me grounded: my faith. “Faith over fear” has been my mantra, trusting in God to guide me through the uncertainties and grow me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Every small victory, like a new customer or a kind review, feels like confirmation that this path was meant for me. It’s humbling and inspiring to look back and see how far I’ve come with God’s guidance, and it’s a reminder that every misstep and struggle is part of a bigger plan.
We’ve been impressed with Laguna Auto Detail Supplies, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a woman in the automotive world, I’m proud to bring a fresh perspective to an industry where innovation meets artistry. Laguna isn’t just about products—it’s about building relationships, cultivating trust, and honoring our individuality and freedoms. We believe that caring for your car is a way of cherishing memories and safeguarding dreams. Our products are made in the USA and developed with a detailer’s mindset—meticulous, hands-on, and focused on preserving what makes each vehicle special. From classic muscle cars to modern luxury rides, we understand that cars aren’t merely machines; they’re an extension of personal style and represent a cherished investment.
What makes Laguna truly unique is the story behind it—a blend of my two worlds: the unyielding spirit of Texas pride and the free-spirited California coastal vibe that shaped my upbringing. From childhood road trips gazing at the dusty mesas of the Southwest, to teenage adventures cruising through San Francisco in a Willow Green 1972 Karmann Ghia Coupe, I realized cars could embody freedom, individuality, and pure joy. Later, moving to Houston during Covid introduced me to a car culture as vibrant and welcoming as the city itself—filled with incredible people, unforgettable food, and a shared passion for all things automotive.
Laguna Auto Detail is more than a brand—it’s a reflection of passion, craftsmanship, and the deep-rooted connection we share with our vehicles. As I continue growing Laguna, I’m committed to uplifting the people around me, creating a place where women can thrive in a field that’s often overlooked us, and celebrating the sheer freedom of the open road. What was your favorite childhood memory?
My love affair with cars began in the late 1980s and early 90s, a time in my childhood when my families highly anticipated summer road trips promised adventure beyond every horizon. With a JanSport backpack brimming with my trusty Walkman, a pile of batteries, specialty made mixed tapes, coloring books, and novels, we journeyed through the sprawling landscapes of California and the Southwest.
Peeking out from the backseat windows, drinking in the dry desert landscape, I remember the dusty crossroads of Barstow, a fleeting landmark on the way to the neon-lit allure of Las Vegas. The mesas of Arizona and New Mexico stood sentinel, casting long fatherly shadows over roadside stands offering handwoven Native American blankets and turquoise treasures. It was a time when the journey and our shared moments together mattered more than the destination, where paper maps guided our course across the expanse of America the beautiful.
