Today we’d like to introduce you to Neveah McLemore.
Hi Neveah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Howdy there! My name is Neveah and I am a young photographer in the Houston area! Funnily, it all started by chance. It began when a close friend of mine asked me to attend his band, Safer Alternative’s, show at The Jailhouse Saloon in Spring, Texas, back in October 2021. My mom, at lunch a few days before, suggested I bring her camera and try to take some pictures to send them. I agreed, and excitedly started doing research on camera settings. I was incredibly nervous the first few times I attended their shows and took pictures, but still got some great shots to send to them each time. Somehow along the way, I just sort of decided to always have my camera with me at the shows I attended. I started to explore the realm of editing a bit later on due to the fact that some of the photos were too dark based on location and the limitations of camera settings.
Through research, I landed on GIMP photo editor and learned the ins and outs of the program. I began to take pictures of other bands present at said shows and received copious amounts of support and suggestions to start an Instagram page, which quickly led me to add a website and Facebook page. Since then I have had so much more support for my craft and had more outreach which has led me to explore other types of photography such as, pets, portraits, and sports events. As of now I am still learning and developing as a photographer and am excited for the journey ahead.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While I wish I could say yes, the true answer is no. Finding time in-between school, work, and my home life has been a struggle. Being so young, I have a lot to accomplish and high ambitions! Luckily however, I have had the ability to time manage and utilize my Google Calendar extremely effectively. Also, without much business experience of managing my own company, I have struggled with the business details of pricing, booking, and outreach. I look forward to growing as a businesswoman and finding my way as a photographer in the future.

I am a young Photographer based in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas! As of now, I specialize in capturing the one of a kind moments in concert photography, but am branching into every kind such as portrait, family, etc.! Personally, I am known for always being willing to try new things with photography! NRM Photography is able to curate a comfortable experience to capture your memories in a photo! I am so proud to be able to say that NRM Photography is able to capture the mental highs, accomplishments, and one of a kind moments for you to keep! NRM Photography takes bookings through email and DM on both Instagram and Facebook! Anything you can think of I can do!
How do you define success?
While having many definitions, I have personally found that rather than money or fame, success to me, is a tribute to the satisfaction of my younger self. As children are with an extensive imaginations and without limitations they strive to be the best that they can be with what they have. Consequently, children have extremely high expectations and aspirations for themselves as reality has not burdened their thought process with consequences, financial hardship, or limited education. By impressing my younger self, in a way, I have maintained a sense of integrity and prioritized my goals to be the successful woman that younger me had in mind when others asked her, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”.
