Hi Nicole, Ashlyn, and Allysa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Glam Life Beauty Bar was inspired by my mom, who spent over 12 years in the beauty and direct sales industry. Growing up, my sister and I were surrounded by makeup, entrepreneurship, and the importance of helping women feel confident. Those experiences sparked our passion for the beauty industry from a young age.
In 2018, after my sister graduated high school, she suggested that we start our own beauty brand. That idea became the beginning of Glam Life. We started building our business, learning as we went, and developing a vision for what we wanted our brand to become.
In 2022, our family made the bold decision to move from Louisiana to Houston, Texas, to pursue greater opportunities and continue growing Glam Life. Since then, we’ve expanded into a family-owned beauty business offering professional makeup services, bridal makeup, one-on-one makeup lessons, and our own cosmetic products. Today, we’re proud to serve clients at our Willowbrook Mall location while continuing to grow a brand centered on confidence, empowerment, and helping every client feel their absolute best.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced our share of challenges, from building a customer base in a new city to navigating the ups and downs of business and the financial demands of running a company. Moving to Houston meant starting over and proving ourselves in a completely new market, which took time, patience, and consistency.
As a family-owned business, we’ve also learned how to balance personal relationships with business decisions. Every obstacle has taught us valuable lessons about resilience, adaptability, and perseverance. Instead of letting challenges discourage us, we’ve used them as opportunities to improve our services, strengthen our brand, and better serve our clients. Looking back, those difficult moments have played a major role in shaping Glam Life Beauty Bar into what it is today.

Glam Life Beauty Bar is a Black-owned, family-owned beauty business dedicated to helping clients look and feel their best. We specialize in professional makeup applications for everyday glam, special events, photoshoots, proms, and weddings. We also offer one-on-one makeup lessons designed to help clients build confidence and master techniques they can recreate on their own. In addition to our beauty services, we’ve created our own line of cosmetics, giving our clients access to high-quality products they can use long after they leave our chair.
What truly sets us apart is that we’re a Black-owned, family-owned beauty brand with a physical location inside a major shopping mall. Our clients can walk in, experience our services firsthand, shop our cosmetic line, and build lasting relationships with our team. We’ve created a welcoming space where beauty, professionalism, and community come together, making luxury makeup services and quality cosmetics more accessible to everyone.
One of our proudest accomplishments is growing Glam Life from an idea into a recognized beauty brand with a storefront presence in Houston. As a family-owned business, we’ve built our brand through hard work, consistency, and a passion for empowering others through beauty.
