Inspiring Conversations with Pam Fleetwood of Fleetwood Services, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Fleetwood.

Hi Pam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am from Dallas and moved to Galveston Island in May of 2021. I bought it my historical cirque 1907 from an individual and I found out it was a Bed and Breakfast (Virginia Point Inn) from 1983-1997, so I decided to turn it back into a B&B as extra income for retirement. I started with that and then started doing High Teas. I was then requested to host a bridal shower, and now I do all of those things plus complete weddings. I do live on property on the first floor in an apartment, so I am close by if my guests require any attention. I love my life here in Galveston and have no plans to move back to Dallas.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Most of the time. My husband of 36 years and I separated in 2023 and found myself having to maintain everything myself. I do have plenty of staff to help me now and love my life even more!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Fleetwood Services, LLC?
I am part owner and this company that builds and remodels golf courses for the 10 years. We turned that company into a multimillion business. Now I am sole owner of Virginia Point Inn, and that is my passion and have won many awards for my hospitality that I am very proud of. I have been runner up in the Reader’s choice award for the past 3 years for best Bed and Breakfast! I am a member of the continental and global who’s who, The Elks and the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. I have 4 rooms, heated pool and sit-down breakfast in the morning. I also provide transportation to and from the cruise port and airport. I am very hands on, and it is me on a plate!

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Entertaining people. I love to find out where they come from and we share stories. It’s all about having my guests having a smile on their face when they leave, and then they tell me they are coming back. I have a lot of repeat customers and cruisers! It makes my heart so happy.
