

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reeka Selman.
Hi Reeka, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I fell in love with graphic design before I knew it was a profession. From the age of 12, I was creating designs and putting them on t-shirts or hats for my family members. Once I discovered Graphic Design was a profession while in college doing Social Work, I immediately switched… but crazily enough, I switched to Photojournalism, later I went to another college to do a degree in Graphic Design.
When I first started working professionally, I began only doing logos or flyers until eventually, I evolved into full-service branding and social media packages that help clients get results and attract more customers to their service-based business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has not been a smooth road. lol Making the transition from doing logos or just a one-time flyer to learning how to package what I know effectively and be profitable and help other businesses be profitable as well. Being a single mother and trying to manage to stay at home with my son, especially during COVID and manage clients and business, has been super difficult. I was homeschooling him for a bit while working from home and that has been very difficult trying to manage.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I help service-based businesses attract more customers and increase their visibility. I am known for my branding packages and helping my clients have not only attractive brands but also brands that connect to their audience. Most graphic designers are only interested in just doing a logo or on the deliverables, flyer, etc. however, I put a lot of emphasis on not only a successful logo and branding but a package that helps service-based customers package their offering and teach them how they can use the internet to get more customers for their business.
It is Logo & Branding but also a full-service brand design & strategy, how do you speak to customers in a way that they connect with you so you can close the sale? Who is your ideal target audience? If more businesses were clearer on their target audience, they would be able to connect better and increase their revenue because of it. That’s what I help the companies I work with figure out and, by extension, give them strategies to improve their income.
I am most proud of the curated full-service experience I’ve developed in the ten years I’ve been a Brand Strategist & Design Consultant that helps service-based companies attract clients who are willing to spend money with them. Most of my clients come to me either confused, overwhelmed, or a blank slate and completely lost when it comes to building or rebranding their company. The process of the transformation is what I love most, the look on my client’s faces when they see their brand and the testimonials from clients saying they are getting daily sales or leads is literally why I push myself every day.
