Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a first-generation high school, college, and medical school graduate, my journey has certainly not been a smooth one. There were countless challenges and obstacles that I had to overcome along the way, but each one only strengthened my resolve and determination.

Growing up in a family where higher education wasn’t the norm, I often felt like I was charting a path without a roadmap. In high school, I struggled with balancing academic expectations with family responsibilities, which was made even harder by not having a direct support system who had navigated the same academic path. The pressure to succeed was overwhelming at times, as I didn’t always have the guidance that many of my peers did.

When I moved on to college, I faced a new set of challenges. Financial concerns were always at the forefront—finding ways to pay for school while juggling work to support myself was exhausting. In addition, adapting to the more rigorous academic environment was no easy feat, especially when it came to the more technical subjects.

Medical school was perhaps the most difficult of all. The workload was grueling, the expectations were sky-high, and being away from home often made me feel isolated. As a first-generation medical student, there were many times I doubted my abilities or wondered if I truly belonged. But despite these doubts, I leaned into the belief that I had earned my place. There were late nights, moments of failure, and plenty of times I wanted to give up. But every step forward was a victory, and the struggles made me the professional I am today.

Looking back, I see each challenge as a pivotal moment that contributed to my growth—not just as a podiatrist, but as an individual. The road was far from smooth, but it was the perseverance through those struggles that truly shaped my path

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At The Foot and Ankle Center of North Houston, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care for all your foot and ankle needs. As a podiatrist, I specialize in treating a wide range of conditions, from common foot and ankle injuries to more complex surgeries. Our focus is not just on addressing the immediate symptoms, but on improving long-term mobility and quality of life for our patients.

One area where we truly stand out is in the field of minimally invasive surgery. I’ve recently undergone advanced training in Beverly Hills to learn a revolutionary new technique called Bunionplasty® 360 Bunion Repair™, which is a cutting-edge, minimally invasive approach to treating bunions. This technique reduces recovery time, minimizes scarring, and provides patients with a quicker return to their daily activities compared to traditional surgical methods.

What sets us apart from others in our field is our commitment to staying at the forefront of medical advancements. I’m always seeking the latest techniques and technologies to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care. Whether it’s through minimally invasive procedures, personalized treatment plans, or comprehensive rehabilitation programs, we are committed to achieving the best outcomes for our patients.

What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the reputation we’ve built for compassionate care and personalized treatment. At The Foot and Ankle Center, we believe that each patient is unique, and we take the time to understand their specific needs and concerns. That personal touch, combined with the latest in medical advancements, is what sets us apart in the field of podiatry.

Ultimately, what I want our readers to know about our brand is that we’re more than just a clinic—we are a trusted partner in foot and ankle health. From routine care to advanced surgical techniques, we offer a range of services that focus on both prevention and treatment. Whether you’re dealing with a minor discomfort or something more serious, we’re here to help you get back on your feet and live a healthier, pain-free life.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For anyone just starting out in their career or business, I always encourage them to follow three key principles that have guided me throughout my journey:

Give the people what they want. Understanding the needs and desires of your audience is crucial. Whether it’s your patients, customers, or clients, make sure you’re providing a service or solution that directly addresses their concerns and improves their lives. It’s easy to get caught up in what you think is important, but at the end of the day, it’s about meeting the real needs of the people you serve.

Find out what the people want. You can’t assume you know what people want. Take the time to listen, observe, and ask questions. Stay connected to your audience, whether it’s through feedback, surveys, or simply talking to them. This will give you valuable insights that can help you refine your offerings and make sure you’re on the right track.

Keep it simple. In a world full of distractions and complexities, simplicity can be your greatest asset. Whether it’s the way you communicate, the services you offer, or the way you operate, simplicity leads to clarity and effectiveness. Don’t overcomplicate things—focus on what matters most and deliver it in a straightforward, clear, and efficient way.

Looking back, I wish I had understood these principles even earlier in my career. When you’re starting out, it can be tempting to focus on everything at once, but by staying focused on these three foundational ideas, you’ll build a strong, sustainable path to success. Keep your patients or clients at the heart of your business, stay curious about their needs, and always aim to simplify your processes.

Ultimately, it’s the combination of these three principles that has helped me build a practice I’m proud of and continue to grow.
