Today we’d like to introduce you to Rod Warner.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My intention was not to be a therapist but to provide grief counseling for families losing loved ones. I quickly realized there is a high demand for African-Americans who suffer in silence and need help! Once I understood the need, I answered the call and put in the effort of becoming a therapist.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, nor has it bumpy road or dirt road but a necessary uphill road that I had to take to make a difference and be impactful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in counseling Black men & couples.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grow up in a very structured household. I sought attention and validation. I didn’t know what I wanted to become, I only knew what I didn’t want to become.
