Inspiring Conversations with Sonny of Best Dental

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonny.

Hi Sonny, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Best Dental started with a simple idea between siblings: build the kind of dental practice we’d want our own family to go to. I’m Dr. Sonny Naderi, and I run Best Dental alongside my sister, Dr. Jasmine Naderi. We grew up watching how much trust patients place in their dentist — and how often that trust gets taken for granted in corporate-style offices where you feel like a number instead of a person.

After completing dental school and years of clinical training, we set out to do things differently. We chose Richmond, Texas because it’s a community that’s growing fast but still has that small-town feel where relationships matter. We wanted patients to walk in and recognize the people treating them — not meet a new dentist every six months.

From day one, we made a few decisions that shaped everything:

Transparent, flat-rate pricing. No surprise bills, no upselling. A crown is $950. An implant is $1,995. You know the price before you sit in the chair.
Same-day care whenever possible. Most patients don’t have time for three follow-up visits. If we can fix it today, we fix it today.

Real relationships over volume. We’d rather see fewer patients well than rush through a packed schedule.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our services to cover everything from cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign to dental implants, full-mouth restorations, and family dentistry — all under one roof, by dentists who actually know your name. Having a brother-sister team running the practice ensures continuity. Patients see Dr. Jasmine for one visit and me for another, and we’re talking about their care behind the scenes.

Today, Best Dental serves families across Richmond, Sugar Land, Katy, and Houston. We’ve grown a lot, but the mission hasn’t changed: honest dentistry, fair prices, and a team that treats you the way we’d want our own family treated.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly? No business worth building is a smooth road, and ours was no exception.

One of the biggest early struggles was breaking through the noise. Richmond and the greater Houston area have no shortage of dental offices, and a lot of patients had been burned before. They’d been quoted one price and billed another, pressured into treatments they didn’t need, or shuffled between different dentists every visit. Earning trust in that environment takes time. We couldn’t just say “we’re different.” We had to prove it, one patient at a time, for years.

Pricing was another challenge. When we committed to flat, transparent rates like $1,995 implants, $950 crowns, and $4,500 Invisalign, we had people tell us it wouldn’t work. The industry standard is to quote high, negotiate down, and let insurance complications muddy the water. Sticking to honest pricing meant tighter margins early on and a lot of explaining to patients who were used to being upsold. But it built the kind of loyalty you can’t buy with marketing.

Running a practice as a brother-sister team has its own learning curve too. Jasmine and I are family, which means we trust each other completely. It also means we have to be intentional about separating business decisions from personal dynamics. Early on, we had to figure out how to disagree professionally, divide responsibilities, and make sure the practice ran on systems instead of moods. We’re better at it now than we were five years ago, and we’ll be better in another five.

There were also the things nobody warns you about. Staffing turnover, insurance companies dragging their feet on reimbursements, equipment failing at the worst possible moment, the constant pressure to stay current with new technology and techniques. Every small business owner knows that feeling of wearing ten hats before lunch.

And like everyone in healthcare, COVID forced us to rethink almost everything overnight. Protocols, scheduling, how we communicated with anxious patients. It was hard, but it pushed us to get better at the parts of the practice that had nothing to do with dentistry: communication, flexibility, and showing up for our community when things were uncertain.

If I had to sum up the lesson from all of it: the struggles are what build the practice. The smooth parts don’t teach you anything. Every difficult patient, every billing headache, every staffing problem we worked through made us sharper and made Best Dental what it is today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Best Dental?
Best Dental is a full-service family dental practice in Richmond, Texas, run by a brother-sister team, Dr. Sonny Naderi and Dr. Jasmine Naderi. We serve patients from across the Greater Houston area, including Sugar Land, Katy, Rosenberg, and Houston itself. Our mission is simple: deliver high-quality dentistry at honest, transparent prices, in an environment where patients actually feel taken care of.

What We Do

We handle just about every dental need a family could have, all under one roof. That includes general and preventive care like cleanings, exams, and fillings, along with cosmetic dentistry such as veneers, teeth whitening, and smile makeovers. We also do restorative work including crowns, bridges, dentures, and full-mouth rehabilitation. On the specialty side, we offer dental implants, Invisalign and orthodontics, root canals, wisdom tooth extractions, and pediatric dentistry for the kids.

What We’re Known For

A few things have become signatures of our practice over the years. Flat, transparent pricing is probably the biggest one. Patients know the cost before they sit in the chair. Implants are $1,995. Crowns are $950. Invisalign is $4,500. Wisdom teeth are $250 per tooth. Veneers are $999. No surprise bills, no upselling, no quoting one number and charging another.

Same-day care is another. When it’s possible, we get treatment done in one visit instead of stretching it across three. Patients have lives, jobs, and kids. We respect that. We’re also known for being a true family practice. Most of our patients have been with us for years, and many bring their parents, kids, and grandkids in too. That continuity matters. You see the same faces, the same dentists, and a team that actually remembers you.

What Sets Us Apart

A few things, but if I had to pick the biggest one: we run this practice like our name is on the door, because it is. Jasmine and I aren’t employees of a corporate dental chain. We’re the owners, the dentists, and the ones answering for every decision made in this office. That changes everything about how we treat patients and how we treat our team.

The brother-sister dynamic is also genuinely rare. Patients get the benefit of two dentists who talk constantly about cases, share the same training philosophy, and back each other up. If Jasmine starts a case and you come in for a follow-up with me, I already know your situation. That kind of continuity is hard to replicate.
We’ve also invested heavily in technology and comfort. Digital scanners instead of goopy impressions, modern sedation options for anxious patients, same-day crown technology, and a calm, welcoming space that doesn’t feel like a sterile clinic. Going to the dentist is stressful enough without the environment making it worse.

What We’re Most Proud Of

Brand-wise, we’re proud of the trust we’ve built. Our reviews, referrals, and the families who’ve been with us for years tell the real story. We didn’t get there with flashy marketing. We got there by treating people fairly and doing good work, consistently, for a long time.

We’re also proud that we’ve stayed independent. A lot of practices around us have been bought up by private equity-backed dental groups in the last few years. We’ve had offers. We’ve turned them down. Staying independent is what lets us keep our pricing honest, our care personal, and our standards where we want them.

What We Want Readers to Know

If you’re looking for a dentist in the Houston area, especially if you’ve been burned by surprise bills, pushy sales tactics, or feeling like a number, give us a try. We’re not the cheapest office out there, and we’re not the most expensive. We’re the office that tells you exactly what you need, exactly what it costs, and treats you like a person while we do it.

PPO insurance is welcome. Financing is available for larger cases. And consultations can be scheduled directly through our website or by calling us.

Best Dental, run by Dr. Sonny Naderi and Dr. Jasmine Naderi. Honest dentistry, fair prices, real relationships.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
A few things, and they’re probably not the answers you’d expect from a dentist.

The biggest one is seeing patients who used to be terrified of the dentist walk in relaxed. We get a lot of people who haven’t been to a dental office in five, ten, sometimes twenty years because of a bad experience somewhere else. They’re embarrassed, anxious, sometimes in real pain. Watching that same person come back six months later, smiling, joking with the staff, bringing their kids in too? That’s the part of this job that doesn’t get old. Fixing teeth is the easy part. Earning back someone’s trust in dentistry is the real work, and it’s the most rewarding.

Family makes me happy. Working alongside my sister Jasmine every day is something I don’t take for granted. Most siblings drift apart as they get older, build their own lives, and only see each other on holidays. We get to build something together. We disagree, we problem-solve, we celebrate the wins together. That’s rare, and I know it.

Our team makes me happy. We’ve built a staff that genuinely likes being here, and patients can feel that the moment they walk in. A dental office runs on its people, not its equipment. When the front desk, the hygienists, the assistants, and the dentists are all rowing in the same direction, the whole place feels different. I’m proud of the culture we’ve built.

Outside of work, the simple stuff makes me happy. Good food with family. A quiet morning before the day gets busy. Watching my community in Richmond and Sugar Land grow and being part of that growth. I’m a Houstonian through and through, and there’s something special about building a practice in the same area where I have roots.

And honestly? Doing work I’m proud of makes me happy. There’s a quiet satisfaction in finishing a difficult case, looking at the result, and knowing it was done right. Not rushed, not corner-cut, not compromised. Just done well. That feeling is what keeps me showing up every day, and I want every patient to feel it when they leave our office.
