Hi Spencer, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
At 16, I was scrubbing cars at a local car wash, earning my first paycheck. Like many teenagers, I moved on to retail jobs, learning the grind of customer service and the importance of showing up. But deep down, I knew these jobs weren’t my end game. I wanted something bigger.
College seemed like the logical next step, but it didn’t stick. Dropping out felt like a leap into the unknown, but it also became the turning point in my journey. Armed with digital marketing skills I’d picked up in high school, I set out to create something of my own.
I built a website, a blog where I reviewed apartments I toured in Houston. What started as a simple passion project soon gained momentum. People started noticing, and the blog became my portfolio, attracting clients and leads from my broker. The spark had been lit.
At 22 I was at the top of my game as an agent, and recognized as a Top Producer in my brokerage. I wanted more freedom, more innovation, and a chance to do things differently. So, I made the bold decision to leave my broker and start my own team. It wasn’t easy. The path was filled with challenges, missteps, and lessons learned the hard way. But I kept pushing.
Today, Fancy Apartments isn’t just another brokerage, it’s a movement. We’ve built one of the top apartment locating brokerages in Houston by challenging the status quo. Our technology is cutting-edge, our marketing stands out, and our management style is unlike anything else in Texas.
But what really sets us apart is our agent-first philosophy. I’m incredibly passionate about this industry and the future of Fancy Apartments. What started as a blog has grown into a brokerage that’s setting new standards. The road ahead is bright, and I’m excited to keep pushing boundaries, empowering agents, and helping clients find their perfect home.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of our biggest obstacles was scaling Fancy Apartments from a small team of five agents to over 35 agents and a dozen employees. Growing at this pace brought significant challenges in technology, logistics, and day-to-day operations.
Managing such a dynamic and expanding team required us to rethink how we operated, from improving communication workflows to implementing systems that could handle the increased complexity. It wasn’t easy, but each hurdle pushed us to become more efficient, adaptable, and innovative. Today, those challenges have shaped us into a stronger organization, setting the stage for even greater success.

In my personal life, happiness comes from quality moments with my significant other, whether we’re cooking together, playing with our dog, or exploring the city with her. I also love immersing myself in my longtime Warhammer hobby (going strong since I was 12!), playing video games with friends, or getting out for a good bike ride. These moments of connection and creativity recharge me and keep me motivated for everything ahead.
