Hi SUNNY, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Houston, Texas three years ago from Kansas City with a big dream and a strong passion for the beauty industry. I began working at a couples salon and spa, but over time I realized the environment was very loud, busy, and didn’t allow me to fully grow my skills or give clients the level of care and attention I truly wanted. I’ve always believed that beauty services should feel personal, relaxing, and private.
With faith, determination, and a vision for a better client experience, I made the decision to leave and start my very first studio. I wanted to create a space where clients could feel comfortable, heard, and truly cared for—and that’s how my journey as a solo esthetician began.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. The suite I rent is expensive, and in the beginning I had to constantly make sure I had enough each week to cover rent while also trying to save for supplies and marketing. I started with zero clients, so I had to teach myself everything about social media, branding, and how to attract people to my business.
On top of that, I had to learn how to run a business on my own—taxes, insurance, liability, licenses—things no one really prepares you for. Some weeks were very slow with only a few bookings on the schedule, which was stressful and discouraging. But I stayed consistent, trusted the process, and kept showing up. Those challenges taught me discipline, resilience, and how to truly value every single client who walks through my door.

Hello Sunshine is more than a business to me—it is personal. When people think of Hello Sunshine, I want them to think of me, Sunny. I am the one who will be providing the service, the one who will care for them, and the one who will treat them like family. Every client is important to me. I don’t rush, I don’t cut corners, and I focus deeply on detail work and quality.

It is a place where you can feel safe, be vulnerable, and trust that you are truly cared for. I specialize in brows, lashes, waxing, and skin services, with a strong focus on comfort, natural results, and skin health.
I am most proud of the trust my clients have in me. Many come to me not just for beauty services, but for peace, consistency, and genuine care. Hello Sunshine was built with faith, heart, and hard work, and every detail reflects that. My goal is simple: for every client to leave feeling confident, relaxed, and valued.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people are surprised to learn that I’m actually very quiet and introverted outside of work. While I’m very warm and talkative with my clients, in my personal life I’m more of a homebody. I love being at home with my dogs, enjoying peace and quiet, and recharging. I don’t go out much or socialize a lot—I truly value calm, simple moments.
I also love making and giving handmade gifts to friends and family—it’s my way of showing love and appreciation. In the same way, people may not know that I always think about others and push myself to improve. If I don’t know how to do something, I will learn it. If I can’t do it yet, I will figure it out until I can. I always want to give my clients the best, and I’m constantly working to be better for them.
