Today we’d like to introduce you to Tabitha Howard.
Hi Tabitha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I usually say my story didn’t unfold in a straight line — it unfolded in chapters, each one teaching me something I didn’t know I needed. I grew up in Houston and spent my early adult years juggling school, work, and a whole lot of figuring things out. I eventually earned my degree in fashion merchandising and business marketing from Texas Woman’s University, and that experience quietly set the stage for everything I do now. TWU pushed me into leadership, pushed me into technology, and pushed me into seeing myself as someone who could solve problems and build things from the ground up.
Professionally, I built my career in project management. I’ve spent years managing large-scale, technical, and creative projects for corporate teams, fire departments, and community organizations. I’m the person who can take a messy idea, a blank room, or a complicated system and turn it into something that works. That skill came from experience, yes — but also from faith, resilience, and learning not to let setbacks define me. I’ve had seasons where I had to start over, seasons where doors closed, and seasons where I had to walk by faith more than sight. Every one of those moments shaped the way I lead today.
Dream Epicenter grew out of a simple truth I kept seeing: talented people have ideas, but they don’t always have space, structure, or support. I wanted to build a place that felt like a creative home for dreamers, doers, and entrepreneurs — especially those who don’t always feel seen. A place where someone could walk in with nothing but a concept and leave with clarity, a plan, and the tools to make it real.
Today, I run Dream Epicenter as a creative hub and resource space in Houston while also serving as a senior project manager. I help people build sustainable businesses, launch ideas, host events, and access the kind of support I wish I had earlier in my journey. Everything I do is centered around stewardship, strategy, and community — making sure the work honors God, honors people, and creates opportunities that last.
My path has had its twists, but it’s led me exactly where I’m supposed to be: helping others build what’s been placed on their hearts, just like I had to learn to build what was placed on mine.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth isn’t the word I’d use for my path. Purposeful, maybe. But definitely not smooth.
A lot of my journey has been learning to move through seasons that didn’t look anything like what I expected. Early on, I dealt with academic setbacks, financial strain, and moments where I genuinely wasn’t sure what direction my life was heading. I’ve had to rebuild my confidence more than once. I’ve had jobs that stretched me, roles where I had to learn everything on the fly, and moments in entrepreneurship where the numbers didn’t match the vision yet.
One of the biggest challenges was outgrowing environments that were comfortable but no longer aligned. It’s hard to step into bigger territory when you feel responsible for everything and everyone around you. I had to learn that protecting my peace, my faith, and my capacity wasn’t selfish — it was stewardship.
Building Dream Epicenter has had its own hurdles too. Funding a creative resource space, educating the community on its value, navigating partnerships, and wearing every hat imaginable stretched me in ways I didn’t anticipate. There were times when I questioned whether I was dreaming too big or moving too fast. But the vision never left, even when the circumstances tried to convince me otherwise.
And then there’s the quiet challenge many leaders face: being the person people rely on while still managing your own life, growth, and healing. I’ve had to develop better boundaries, make bolder decisions, and release the habit of over-customizing or overworking myself to “make it all make sense.”
Still, every obstacle sharpened me. Every setback pushed me into new skills. And every challenge made Dream Epicenter more grounded, more strategic, and more intentional. I didn’t get here easily, but I did get here honestly — and with a lot of grace.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Dream Epicenter?
Dream Epicenter is a creative workshop and resource studio built to help people turn ideas into income. We blend creativity, commerce, and community in a way Houston hasn’t quite seen before. Entrepreneurs come here to design products, build brands, film content, host workshops, develop business systems, or simply sit in a space that fuels their imagination.
What sets us apart is how intentional the ecosystem is. Dream Epicenter operates at the intersection of:
• Ideas to Income:
We provide the tools, strategy, and support for people to take an idea off the shelf and turn it into a real, revenue-generating product or service. Whether someone is creating merchandise, launching a business, or refining their brand, we help them build something sustainable.
• Commerce:
We’re not just a workspace — we’re a business incubator. Members can host pop-ups, sell products, run workshops, and build visibility. We give creatives the resources to test, earn, and grow in real time.
• Coffee + Coworking:
There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when people have a calm, energizing space to work, think, and create. With open work areas, meeting spaces, and our Drink Station always ready, Dream Epicenter feels less like a traditional studio and more like a community home base for entrepreneurs.
• Community:
People don’t just join for the resources — they join for the relationships. Dream Epicenter attracts dreamers and doers who want to collaborate, learn, and grow together. It’s a place where you can meet your future business partner, your first customer, or the person who finally helps your idea click.
• Practical Support:
From equipment and production tools to business consulting, branding, and website development, we give people both the creative tools and the operational systems needed to move forward with confidence.
I’m most proud of how the brand feels — intentional, accessible, and rooted in stewardship. Dream Epicenter was designed to empower people who have the vision but need the structure, resources, or community to bring it to life. Everything we offer, from memberships to classes to consulting, is designed to help people build with clarity, strategy, and sustainable growth in mind.
To put it simply:
Dream Epicenter is where ideas become income, creativity meets commerce, and community becomes the catalyst for real change.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’ll add one thing. People sometimes assume Dream Epicenter is just a creative studio, but at its core, it’s a place built on stewardship, faith, and the belief that everyday people deserve access to the kind of support that can change their lives. I built this space for the dreamers who are talented but tired, gifted but overlooked, capable but unsure where to start. If that sounds like you, you’re not alone and you’re not too late.
I also want readers to know that the work we do is deeply community-focused. We partner with local businesses, host events, support emerging entrepreneurs, and create opportunities that pour back into Houston. Whether you’re building a brand, a business, or a vision that’s been sitting on your heart for years, Dream Epicenter is a place where the idea doesn’t have to stay an idea.
And lastly, I’m grateful. Grateful for the people who walk through our doors, for the stories being written in this space, and for the chance to build something that serves others. This chapter of my life is a blessing, and I’m committed to using it well.
