Hi Tara, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m actually a Louisiana girl at heart—born and raised in the small town of Shreveport. Most of my family worked in healthcare, so I always knew I wanted to help people, just not with needles or anything medical—fun fact: I have a weak stomach!
My journey into social work started unexpectedly. After my great-grandmother—whom we lovingly called Mudea—suffered a few strokes, I found myself spending a lot of time in the hospital with her. That’s where I met one of her social workers, and something just clicked. I realized there was a whole profession dedicated to advocacy, support, and navigating people through life’s hardest moments. That encounter sparked a calling in me.
I went on to earn my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Louisiana Tech University, followed by a Master of Social Work from Grambling State University. Later, I completed a Global Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria, combining my heart for people with strategic business insight.
Over the years, I’ve worked in nearly every corner of the social work field—from case management to crisis intervention—and eventually found myself working in palliative care. That experience deepened my passion for clinical work and showed me just how essential emotional and mental support is, especially for women navigating difficult seasons.
That’s what led me to launch BeeWell Solutions—a virtual mental health practice focused on helping women heal, thrive, and be well in every sense of the word. It’s more than just a practice; it’s a purpose!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well, first, I’d say a “smooth road” really depends on your mindset. For me, I’ve always carried a deep resolve that I’m operating in my calling. This isn’t just a business—it’s a purpose. I’m not just clocking in; I’m fulfilling something bigger than me. That sense of purpose gives me fuel, even when the road gets bumpy.
Has it been easy? Not at all. I’ve lost money, I’ve lost time, and I’ve made mistakes. But I’ve also gained wisdom, strength, and a clearer vision. I’m building a legacy, and that means quitting isn’t an option. Every bump has taught me something, and I’m still moving—pressing forward, scars and all—because the mission is worth it.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’m human first—and I proudly wear many hats. One of the titles I cherish most is Wife and Mom. I’m blessed with a beautifully blended family of six kids and two dogs, and honestly, they’re a huge part of what fuels my work. My personal journey, especially through birth trauma, ignited a deep passion for supporting women through every phase of the perinatal experience—from fertility challenges to prenatal and postpartum care.
That lived experience didn’t just shape my heart—it shaped my mission. I wanted women to feel seen, supported, and empowered. That same passion extends to another group close to my heart: the geriatric population. Their stories, wisdom, and dignity matter deeply to me, which is why geriatric care management became one of the foundational service lines here at BeeWell Solutions.
I believe that while we don’t have to do everything, with the right support, we truly can. I believe we don’t have to just survive—we can thrive. My goal is to help people reconnect with their natural rhythm, one step at a time.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me soaking in family time, baking sweet treats, or propagating plants. It’s in those simple joys that I find balance—and it’s that same sense of grounded wellness I hope to help others find too.

For those who prefer or require private pay options, our initial evaluations are offered at $150, with follow-up psychotherapy sessions starting at $140.
