Hi Tatiana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a wife, mother, friend, and Colombian entrepreneur, passionate about wedding and luxury event planning. I hold a degree in Business Administration and a specialization in Business Management, with over 12+ years of experience across various economic sectors.

My passion for event planning was ignited during my professional journey, as I was always involved in organizing and executing events for the companies I worked with. One day, I asked myself: “TOT (as my friends call me), why not turn your job into your passion?” And that’s how it all started. I began organizing birthdays, family gatherings, and any event that came my way. I became the go-to person for raffles, games, and entertainment for my family and friends… and I was absolutely thrilled!

In 2016, I decided to formalize my business in Cartagena de Indias under TEventos. From that moment on, we embarked on this journey, working with local couples and corporate events. Like any entrepreneurial venture, we faced ups and downs, but we remained committed to making this dream a reality. Over time, I realized that what I love the most is getting to know the stories and the unique world behind each client.

In 2019, my husband’s company relocated us to our current city, Houston, Texas. At first, I was unsure whether to continue with the business, but God’s plans are always perfect. With the arrival of our daughter in 2020, we decided to bring the business to Houston and start fresh in a new market.

Today, TEvents is a growing brand that we have steadily established as a leading company in the wedding and event industry. My passion for this field remains as strong as ever, and every day, I fall more in love with what I do creating unforgettable experiences and making my clients’ dreams come true.

When I’m not dreaming of elegant events, for my clients or looking for many options to offer them, you can find me playing at being the best teammate for my husband Yasser, taking care of my daughter Sophia, or looking for a way to support those around me. I also love to expand my knowledge of digital topics and am delighted to meet new restaurants. I will always enjoy social gatherings with my friends and family in the company of a gin and tonic booze!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to building TEvents has been anything but smooth. Like any entrepreneurial journey, it has been filled with challenges, learning curves, and moments of doubt. However, every obstacle has also been an opportunity to grow, adapt, and strengthen the foundation of my business.

One of the biggest challenges was relocating TEvents from Cartagena, Colombia, to Houston, Texas. Transitioning to a new market, with a new lenguage, meant starting from scratch building a network, understanding a different clientele, and positioning my brand in a highly competitive industry. It was a daunting process, but I took it one step at a time, focusing on building relationships and providing exceptional service.

Another major challenge has been balancing my roles as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. The arrival of my daughter in 2020 was a blessing, but it also meant learning to juggle my personal and professional responsibilities. Finding the right balance has been a journey of trial and error, but I’ve learned to set boundaries, prioritize, and lean on my support system.

Additionally, like many businesses in the event industry, the pandemic brought uncertainty and disruptions. It forced me to rethink my approach, adapt to changing circumstances, and explore new ways to keep TEvents moving forward. It was a period of resilience, innovation, and reaffirming my passion for creating meaningful experiences.

Despite the struggles, I wouldn’t change a thing. Each challenge has shaped TEvents into what it is today a brand built on passion, dedication, and the unwavering belief that every event should be a reflection of love, joy, and unforgettable moments. The road may not have been smooth, but it has certainly been worth it.

TEvents is a boutique event planning company specializing in luxury weddings, destination weddings, corporate events, and social celebrations. Based in Houston, Texas, and with roots in Cartagena, Colombia, we offer expert planning, design, and execution to create seamless and unforgettable experiences for our clients.

One of our key specialties is destination weddings, a natural extension of our roots in Cartagena, one of the world’s top wedding destinations. Our deep understanding of this magical city and its vibrant culture allows us to craft authentic, elegant, and unforgettable destination weddings for couples seeking a unique and breathtaking setting. In addition to Cartagena, we curate luxury destination weddings across Latin America, (Mexico and, The Dominican Republic) offering our expertise to couples who dream of celebrating their love in stunning locations.

We also specialize in high-end weddings in Houston and customized corporate and social events. What sets TEvents apart is our commitment to personalization we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all events. Instead, we take the time to understand our clients’ visions, cultures, and unique stories, transforming them into beautifully curated experiences that reflect their personalities.

What truly distinguishes TEvents is the experience behind the brand. With over 12 years of expertise in business management and event production, we bring a structured, detail-oriented, and creative approach to every event we produce. Our team excels at orchestrating intricate logistics, vendor coordination, and seamless execution, allowing our clients to enjoy their special moments stress-free.

Beyond event planning, we have recently expanded into fine stationery for weddings and special events, as well as personalized gifts, further enhancing the luxury experience we provide to our clients. Additionally, we are launching exclusive networking experiences and curated social gatherings in partnership with other brands, creating spaces for meaningful connections.

What makes us most proud is not only the trust our clients place in us but also the journey of building TEvents in a new country and in a language that is not my own. Taking this challenge head-on and growing the business in a highly competitive industry fills me with immense pride. It has been a journey of resilience, learning, and perseverance, proving that passion and hard work can break barriers.

At TEvents, we don’t just plan events—we create experiences that leave a lasting impact. Whether it’s a dream wedding, a corporate gala, a luxury soirée, or a Quinceanera, our goal is always the same: to exceed expectations and turn moments into lifelong memories.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Success is never achieved alone, and TEvents would not be where it is today without the incredible support system that has surrounded me throughout this journey. Many people have played a crucial role in the growth and success of my business—mentors, family, clients, industry peers, and my amazing team.

First and foremost, my family has been my greatest pillar of support. My husband has been my rock, encouraging me every step of the way, believing in my vision even when I had doubts. His unwavering support, along with the joy and inspiration I get from my daughter, has fueled my drive to push forward despite challenges.

Clients such as, The Latina Power, Goya, Maestro Cares Foundation, and Resetate, among others, have also been a fundamental part of this journey. Every couple, corporate partner, and family who has trusted TEvents to bring their vision to life has contributed to our growth. Their trust, recommendations, and word-of-mouth referrals have allowed us to expand and continue doing what we love.

I have also been fortunate to learn from and collaborate with industry peers and mentors (Cakes by Gina, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Pedro Abasolo Makeup, and Bella Flori, among others) who have shared their knowledge and guidance. Being in a new country and market, building relationships with other event professionals has been invaluable. Networking with vendors, venue managers, and fellow planners has not only helped TEvents grow but has also created a sense of community and mutual support.

Lastly, my team whether it’s the talented vendors I work with or the collaborators who help bring each event to life has been instrumental in delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. Every florist, photographer, decorator, caterer, and creative partner plays a crucial role in ensuring that every event is executed flawlessly. My girls (Naty, Yelu, Eli, Alexa, Elvi, and Jill) have been my eyes and hands in this process!

Building TEvents has been a journey of passion, resilience, and continuous learning. I am beyond grateful for everyone who has been part of this adventure, and I know that together, we will continue to create unforgettable moments for our clients.
