Hi, I’m Xavier Bishop, though many in Houston know me as Zay. When we last spoke in 2023, I was running Zay’s Signature Creations. Today, I am proud to stand before you as the founder of Regal Pineapple Hospitality Co.
We underwent a massive, intentional rebranding in July 2025. The pineapple is the universal symbol of welcome and warmth, which perfectly matches our core mission. This coming July, we are celebrating a massive milestone: 6 years in business! To celebrate, we are hosting our 6th Annual Masquerade Ball, themed The Bridgerton Experience. Just like previous years, this gala will directly give back to children’s literacy, a cause incredibly close to our hearts.
My journey started in Northside Houston. I later earned my hospitality degree from SFASU and spent years in restaurant management. I launched this company in July 2020 during the height of the pandemic. We began with family-focused intimate services like Elegant Picnics. Over the last three years, we have completely transformed. We pivoted from those early pandemic roots into an elevated, luxury powerhouse. Today, we focus heavily on high-end Wedding and Event Planning, bringing true hospitality to life’s biggest moments.
Surviving a rollercoaster three years and reaching our 6-year milestone would have been impossible without a powerful, trusted ecosystem of partners, vendors, friends, and family. It has absolutely been a rollercoaster since 2023. If the first few years taught me how to start a business, these past three years taught me how to defend and scale it.
We have had to navigate incredibly tough terrain, including:
– Battling deceptive industry scammers
– Severing ties with toxic business partners
– Navigating historic inflation costs
– Adapting to aggressive, constant market changes
These challenges forced us to make hard, strategic pivots. Instead of trying to be everything to everyone, we redirected our target audience toward elevated, luxury wedding and event planning.
We also completely reimagined our dessert line, Bookie’s Brookies. We shifted away from standard individual orders to focus on a high-end luxury aesthetic and premium dessert bars for large-scale events.
Through every betrayal, market dip, and restructuring, we refused to compromise our integrity. We are still standing strong because our foundation is built on genuine resilience and true hospitality.

The scammers and bad partnerships tried to shift my focus, but they only succeeded in making our community stronger. I am still walking in my purpose, completely undivided and stronger than ever.
