Hi Jazzlynn, so great to have you join us again. For folks who might have missed our earlier conversations, can you please take a minute to briefly introduce yourself?
I’m Jazzlynn! I’ve been a licensed hair stylist for 7+ years. In 2019 I opened The Pink Room HTX. Which is a full service salon offering, hair, nail, and esthetician services.
What’s new? What have you been working on lately?
Right now I’m working on The Pink Room Summer Wig Collection. Im super excited about it. All units will be unique units, no pre made wigs. As I got more into wigs I noticed how pre made wigs are just not it!! They just don’t give you the look that most people are going for. I really try to push everyone to get into custom units. Like why not???
How has it been working with your bestfriend (Royal Tipz)
It’s been lit. It’s funny, when we first started working together everyone thought it wouldn’t work. A lot of people don’t know but before I opened ‘The Pink Room” I was doing Human Resources and I hired my bestfriend and tried to keep it low-key. The only part that didn’t work was us working in an environment trying to act like we didn’t really know each other. We use to sneak and go to lunch together. I was HR so I was really trying to keep it professional. But, I absolutely love having her working with me. She keeps me focus and sparks my creativity. It’s so much fun coming to work and your best friend is there!
What celebrities would you like to work with?
I’m so Houston so I really want to work with the upcoming artist in my city. It would be a pleasure to work with Ken The Man, Monaleo, Lebra Jolie. But just to see these young black women climbing their way to the top and being from Houston is exciting.
Who’s your current inspiration?
Tokyo Stylez has been my inspiration for a while now. I’ve been watching her before she became a celebrity stylist. What I like most about her is that she’s far from basic with her styles. Her creativity is un-matched. It just makes me want to step my game up every time I see her produced a new look.
What is something you want to manifest?
I want to open up a chain of “The Pink Room.” Of course there’s The Pink Room HTX, but I want to expand and put ATL, LA, MIA, LV behind my brand as I expand. That would be cool to give artists a cool place to work while being their own brand.
