Khyrie Neveaux of Houston on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Khyrie Neveaux and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Khyrie , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
My kids make me laugh & proud everyday. And that’s not me just giving a cliche answer, it’s literally everyday.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Sure! My name is Khyrie Neveaux. First and foremost, I’m a husband to a beautiful wife and a proud father to two amazing kids; they’re a huge part of my “why” and keep me grounded and inspired every day.
I’m the host of The Khyrie Neveaux Show, a platform where I have real, meaningful conversations, often diving into culture, creativity, purpose, and personal growth. I’m also the creator of Khyrie’s Book Club, which was born out of my love for reading and sharing ideas that challenge perspectives and spark growth.
Over the years, I’ve built a brand centered on authenticity, thoughtful content, and connecting with people through conversation and storytelling. I’ll be honest—I’ve taken a few hiatuses along the way. Life has its seasons, and I’ve learned to honor that. But right now, I’m in a phase of rebuilding, focused on being consistent, showing up, and bringing my brand back to where it was and beyond.
It’s an exciting and humbling journey. My goal is to not only create, but to connect, and to inspire others to embrace their own voice, even during the in-between seasons.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My marriage, without question. It’s the one relationship that has shown me the most about who I really am, both the beautiful parts and the ugly parts. There’s nothing quite like marriage when it comes to revealing the deeper layers of yourself.
It holds up a mirror that reflects not only your strengths but also your insecurities, your flaws, your habits, things you might not even realize are there until you’re sharing life that closely with someone. It’s uncomfortable at times, but it’s also where the most growth has come from.
Being a husband has pushed me to be more self-aware, more accountable, and more intentional in how I show up, not just in my relationship, but in every area of my life. It’s been humbling, refining, and deeply shaping in the best possible way.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Yeah, I miss the simpler times growing up with my cousins, back when family just felt closer. It seemed like everyone genuinely liked each other more. There was a sense of togetherness that didn’t need to be planned or forced, it just existed.
We’d be packed in one house, laughing, playing, eating, just enjoying each other. Life was simpler, and so were the relationships. As we’ve all grown older, things have changed, people drift, priorities shift, and sometimes that natural closeness fades.
It’s something I carry with me and think about often, especially now that I have a family of my own. I miss that version of family, and I think a part of me is always trying to recreate that warmth and connection in my own life.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. I once heard Kobe Bryant say, “You are who you are depending on the situation you’re in.” That really stuck with me. We show different sides of ourselves in different settings, not because we’re being fake, but because we’re adapting to what the moment calls for.
So yes, the public version of me is the real me. It’s just one layer of who I am. It reflects my values, my passions, and how I choose to show up in the world. But like anyone else, I have private sides too, things reserved for my family, my close friends, or even just myself. That doesn’t make either side less real, it just makes me human.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m in the country!
