Kimberlyn Gomez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Kimberlyn, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I’m a proud mother of three, and in our home, laughter and special moments go hand in hand. My husband and I are raising powerful children of God, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Growing up, I was one of those kids who got dragged to church every Sunday—it was an all-day thing! But now, I thank my mom for laying that foundation in me because today, I get to pass it on to my daughters.
The beautiful part? There are times when they’re the ones pushing me to get to church! My girls have such a genuine heart to serve the Lord and never want to miss a service. Those are the moments that make me stop and praise God. Proud mom moments truly never stop. 💕
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Kim Gomez, a photographer, videographer, and the owner of Perfect Three Photography. I specialize in capturing life’s most meaningful moments — from weddings and Sweet 16s to creative brand stories — with a touch of emotion, elegance, and authenticity.
What makes my brand special is the heart behind it. My work is inspired by faith, family, and the beauty found in real, raw moments. Every photo and video I create is meant to remind people of God’s goodness and the joy that comes with celebrating life and love.
Right now, I’m continuing to grow my brand while mentoring new photographers and collaborating with ministries and creatives who want to make an impact through storytelling. For me, it’s more than just photography — it’s about purpose, connection, and leaving a lasting impression through every image.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents have always been powerful examples of what hard work truly looks like. My dad is the most punctual person I know — the kind who’s always an hour early for work. He lives by the saying, “If you’re on time, you’re late,” and he’s the definition of dedication. He’s worked tirelessly, traveling wherever he needed to, to make sure my mom, my sisters, and I were always taken care of. I pray the Lord blesses him abundantly for every sacrifice he’s made for our family.
My mom is the spiritual leader of our home. She’s the one who taught me what it means to serve God wholeheartedly. Something she’s always said and lived by is, “If you’re going to do something for the Lord, do it right.” That mindset shaped not just how I serve, but how I approach everything I do.
My dad taught me the value of hard work in the physical world, and my mom taught me the importance of hard work in the spiritual one. Because of them, I carry both lessons wherever I go — and through it all, I’ve learned that the Lord is truly good. 🙏
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been several moments in my life when I truly wanted to give up. Growing up, communication in my home was almost nonexistent, and the enemy often tried to convince me that ending my pain was the only escape. I battled feelings of unworthiness and hopelessness that followed me well into adulthood.
During my fight with cancer, those thoughts became even louder. My treatment was aggressive and took a heavy toll on both my body and my mental health. I remember praying, “Lord, just take me. I can’t do this anymore.” The suffering felt unbearable.
Later, after I got married, my husband and I faced challenges that tested us to our core. In one of the hardest seasons of our marriage, I reached a breaking point and even asked for a divorce. I remember crying out, “God, haven’t I been through enough?” I felt abandoned and unheard. But looking back now, I realize how wrong I was — because even in my pain, God was closer than ever.
He never let me fail. Every trial I’ve faced — from the darkest valleys to the moments when I wanted to walk away — has been part of His divine plan. Through it all, God was refining me, preparing me to help others who feel lost or hopeless.
What the enemy meant for evil, God has turned for good. My story is one of redemption, resilience, and unshakable faith — a living reminder that even in our deepest struggles, God’s grace never lets go.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to spreading the Gospel — now more than ever, as I truly believe we’re living in a time when God’s return feels closer than ever. One of the ministries closest to my heart is the one I serve in as a missionary: a strip club outreach ministry. This November marks three years since I began volunteering with this incredible team.
What we do is simple but powerful — we bring the light of Jesus into dark places. Through Reckon, I’ve witnessed God’s hand move in ways that words can’t fully capture. One story that remains close to my heart is of a woman I met during my very first outreach visit. She was the first person I ever prayed for inside a club.
At the time, she had just given birth, and her baby was in the NICU with serious complications. That was her one prayer request — for her baby to be healed and come home. A few weeks ago, during another outreach, I saw her again. She shared with me that her baby is finally home and doing well after more than a year in the NICU. Hearing that brought tears to my eyes — a powerful reminder that God hears every prayer and never stops working miracles.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I hope people say that I loved God deeply and that His light shined through everything I did. That I lived with purpose, served others with compassion, and used my story — the good and the painful — to help people see God’s faithfulness.
I want to be remembered as someone who never gave up, who walked in grace even when life was hard, and who made others feel seen, valued, and loved. Most of all, I hope people say, “She pointed others to Jesus.” Because at the end of the day, that’s what my life has always been about.
