Lauren Green, Owner of Olive & Company Pet Spa & Retreat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Green.

For Lauren Green, caring for animals is not just a career. It has been a calling since she was 16 years old.

Born and raised in Katy and a proud graduate of Katy High School, Lauren began her journey working in kennels throughout the Katy area. What started as a teenage job quickly became a lifelong passion. At 18, she enrolled in grooming school at Golden Paws in Houston, determined to master her craft.

“Learning to groom is not something you perfect overnight,” Lauren shares. “It takes years of patience, continued education, and truly loving what you do.”

Seven years into her career, Lauren took a leap of faith and started her own business from home. Within a year, she moved into her first storefront, achieving a major milestone. Unfortunately, that space flooded during Hurricane Harvey, forcing her to start over.

Rather than giving up, Lauren rebuilt. She returned to grooming from home, expanded her salon, and steadily regained momentum. In October 2024, she reopened in a brick-and-mortar location with an even bigger vision.

Today, Olive & Company Pet Spa & Retreat offers grooming, daycare, and boarding services designed around one central idea: creating a true home away from home for pets.

“We did not want to simply provide basic pet care,” Lauren explains. “We wanted to reinvent what that experience could feel like.”

That vision includes splash pads and baby pools during warmer months, enrichment activities, ball pits, extra cuddles, and endless games of fetch. Clients also receive personalized report cards for grooming, daycare, and boarding at no additional cost.

The philosophy is simple. Play as much as possible so they sleep well at night.

What truly sets Olive & Company apart is the commitment to quality over quantity. Lauren intentionally limits the number of pets cared for each day to ensure safety, proper supervision, and meaningful connection. Staff members take time to build relationships with each animal, learning their personalities and recognizing when something may be off.

“For me, safety and well-being come first,” she says. “Every pet deserves individual attention.”

That dedication is reflected in the feedback from loyal clients and in the growing portfolio of beautifully groomed pets leaving the retreat each day.

After years of growth, setbacks, and rebuilding, Lauren’s vision has fully come to life, not just as a business, but as a trusted community space where pets are genuinely loved.

For this Katy native, there is no greater reward than that.
