We’re looking forward to introducing you to Faith-Jamese’ Ferguson. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Faith-Jamese’, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are really intentional. I usually start by journaling, praying, and meditating to ground myself spiritually and mentally. I also take time to read my affirmations, which helps me set the tone for the day with focus and positivity. After that, I head to the gym to get my body moving. That combination of spiritual, mental, and physical practice helps me show up clear-minded, energized, and ready to be productive.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Faith-Jamese’ Ferguson, and I wear many hats with one mission: to empower people to reclaim their confidence, purpose, and power. I’m a licensed cosmetologist, author and salon suite owner but at the heart of it all, I’m a woman who believes in faith and strategy working hand in hand.
Through my brand, I help women not only grow healthy hair but also heal from the inside out, because I believe beauty is deeper than what we see in the mirror. I’ve built businesses that reflect resilience relocating to Houston with nothing and rebuilding my clientele from scratch, creating digital tools and eBooks to guide other stylists, and now mentoring beauty professionals through the Faith-Based Beauty Network.
What makes my story unique is that every step of my journey is rooted in purpose. I know what it feels like to start over, and I use my experiences to help others do the same whether it’s behind the chair, in business, or in life. Right now, I’m focused on growing my community of faith-driven stylists, continuing to expand my salon brand, and teaching others how to step into their God-given calling with confidence.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose and must now be released is the version of myself that was a people-pleaser always confirming to what society said I should do. For a long time, I believed the safe path was the only path: work a stable job, play it safe, avoid taking risks. But that mindset kept me small and disconnected from the calling God placed on my life.
Releasing that version of me has allowed me to fully embrace faith, entrepreneurship, and risk-taking with purpose. I’ve learned that obedience to God’s vision requires courage, not comfort. That old part of me served its purpose because it taught me discipline and responsibility, but now I’m choosing boldness, alignment, and the freedom to live out the life God called me to build.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most in my life has been the fear of failure. For a long time, I worried about getting it wrong or not living up to expectations, which kept me from taking risks and fully stepping into opportunities. But I’ve learned that without failure, there are no lessons, and without lessons, there’s no real success. Now I see failure as a teacher, not an enemy. Every setback has shaped me, strengthened me, and prepared me for greater wins.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
A belief I used to hold tightly was that you had to physically work hard just to see rewards. I grew up thinking long hours and constant hustle were the only path to success. But over time, I realized that the truly wealthy don’t just work harder they work smarter. They use their minds, creativity, and strategy to make their money multiply. That shift taught me the importance of not trading time for money, but instead building systems, assets, and opportunities that create freedom.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
One thing I understand deeply that most people don’t is that anything you truly desire, you can have. If you can think about it and believe it, it can be yours. Nothing is too big, too far, or too much when it’s aligned with God’s plan for your life. I’ve learned that our thoughts, words, and faith shape our reality, and the only real limits are the ones we accept. That’s why I dream big, move with intention, and encourage others to believe that what’s in their heart is possible.
