Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Natalia Salivia of Woodlands

Natalia Salivia shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Natalia, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Yes, there have been times when I’ve been glad I didn’t act fast. I’ve learned that rushing into something you’re not fully prepared for can do more harm than good. Waiting gives you the chance to think clearly, make stronger decisions, and approach opportunities with confidence instead of desperation. That mindset has been key in building Ultimate Prospect. Taking the time to plan and position the brand the right way made a bigger impact than if I had jumped in too quickly without direction.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Natalia Salivia and I am the owner and lead designer of Ultimate Prospect. Ultimate Prospect started as a vision I shared with Chris Ortiz, Daniel Rengifo, and Joshua Ricks. Over time I took full ownership and turned it into what it is today, a woman-owned business in the male dominated world of sports and design. What makes my brand unique is that it is not just about graphics, it is about creating opportunity. I design custom visuals that highlight athletes’ achievements, stats, and potential in a way that grabs attention from recruiters. I have worked to grow Ultimate Prospect into more than design by expanding with contractors who bring new creative services like photography, motivational signage, and branding. This growth keeps our mission strong by empowering athletes to stand out, be seen, and advance in their recruitment journey.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
When I first started the truth is my work was not good, but the people around me saw something I couldn’t see yet. My parents, family, friends, and even strangers believed in my potential and encouraged me when I doubted myself. Their support gave me the motivation to keep going, to improve, and to eventually build Ultimate Prospect into what it is today.

When did you last change your mind about something important?
I always planned to start my own graphic design business one day, but Ultimate Prospect was on pause. One night while talking with my dad about business, I changed my mind and decided not to wait any longer. That night I committed to taking over Ultimate Prospect, getting the LLC, and building it into what it is today with Olympian Matt Ludwig as the face of the company and a growing team of interns and contractors now part of UP.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is respect. Whether it is athletes, contractors, or collaborators, I make sure everyone involved with Ultimate Prospect feels valued for what they bring to the table. That standard has shaped how the brand works and grows.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What false labels are you still carrying?
A false label I am still carrying is that I am just a graphic designer. The truth is I run a business that continues to grow and expand beyond design. Ultimate Prospect has developed into a full brand with interns, contractors, and new creative services, and every step forward proves that it is much more than people first assumed.
