Nisley Urquiola shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Nisley, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
At this moment, watching my 10-month-old son grow has brought me not only joy, but also an energy and motivation I had never experienced before. Seeing him develop each day inspires me to be an example, so that he knows that with God’s help, he can accomplish anything he sets his mind to. This fills me with pride and deep personal fulfillment.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My husband Tucker and I run a family fitness company called Primal Training, dedicated to guiding and supporting people who want to transform their lives and break free from stagnation in fitness—helping them “lead a life of strength and happiness,” both online and in person.
In addition, I am pursuing my career as a bodybuilder, a journey I’ve embraced with renewed strength after my C-section, with the clear goal of reaching the professional level. At the same time, I work as a fitness model and influencer, collaborating with international brands such as Prozis and BeastMode Labs, which allows me to inspire others through my lifestyle and discipline.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
One of my earliest and most powerful memories of feeling strong came after I became very ill due to mercury poisoning. That experience made me deeply value life and never take for granted the daily miracles of being able to think, walk, and breathe.
When you spend time in a hospital bed, you realize that life itself is a gift, one that must be fully embraced. I learned that what is beyond our control must be released, that we should treat ourselves with love without falling into ego, help those who are open to being helped, and let go of those who are not. As Marcus Aurelius wisely said: “Receive without pride, let go without attachment.”
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
Something I changed my mind about after failing hard was realizing that I should never change just to be accepted by others. If I choose to change, it must be because I truly want to grow and become a better person every day. I also learned that those who are meant to be in my life will stay, and that some people come with a specific purpose—once that purpose is fulfilled, we must learn to let them go without holding on.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I deeply admire Brian Tracy because his life is a true example of resilience, discipline, and perseverance. He rose from nothing and, through his character, became someone who has impacted countless lives—including mine. What I value most is that he lives in alignment with what he teaches, embodying integrity and inspiring others to reach their fullest potential.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely yes. Over time I’ve learned to give my very best in everything I do—not for applause, but because it reflects who I am and the values I live by. Even if no one ever recognized me, I would continue giving my best, because striving for excellence is my way of honoring my purpose and staying true to my integrity.
