Life and Work with Holly Bollinger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Bollinger.

Holly, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started in photography and graphic design as a hobby and I’ve always enjoyed creating design pieces and capturing moments to help tell stories. My hobby turned into part-time work that allowed me to both stay home when I became a Mom and grow in my skill set as a designer. I consider it a blessing to be able to run my own business while having the flexibility to make sure my family is my top priority.

The best part about running my own business is that it not only allows me to have time to raise our three kids, but it also provides time to spend alongside our church community and the non-profit organization my husband and I work with. I also love being able to give back to other amazing non-profit organizations, whether it be through helping them with design work, photography, website builds, podcast platforms or just simply volunteering.

Has it been a smooth road?
As a designer, I always work to stay ahead of current marketing and style trends. Technology is advancing at a more rapid rate than ever before, and it’s challenging to stay on the cutting edge. The only advice I would give other women is to stay true to themselves while being open to growing in the areas that will help you achieve your goals. The most important thing is to simply start. I would also say don’t just start to start or to make money, but start because you love what you do and you believe in the impact it will make.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Capella Creative Design – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My work is focused on helping businesses, non-profits or individuals communicate their stories. In the social media age, storytelling is everything. From logo conceptualization to branding to website design to social media management and strategy, I love seeing stories come to life through print or digital media. I love to see people’s dreams and visions find their place in the world.

What sets Capella apart is that we put people first. We believe in providing high-end products that don’t have to cost 10’s of 1000’s of dollars. We can scale our services to help meet the needs of our clients. The other thing that sets us apart is that we are organized and fast.

The scope of our work spans across many different industries including: Oil & Gas, Benefit Providers, Tech Companies, Churches, Non-Profits, Podcasts, Real Estate, Restaurants, Schools, the Music Industry, Health and Beauty, several Startup Businesses and more.

Our specialties are logos/branding, social media design/management, beautiful, simple, effective web design and photography services.

One of our most recent clients commented, “It’s like you were reading my mind.”

That’s the power of putting people first. Before we do anything, we listen. After we listen, we unleash the power of your story.

Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
I have been fortunate to not have experienced barriers in business I would attribute to being female. There is a strong female presence in the design and marketing industry, and I’m honored to be among them. It’s an exciting time to see some of the most pioneering work in the industry being led by talented women.
