Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I started in the skincare industry, with a background in esthetics, 12 years ago. Loving the all natural aspect, I really honed in on organic and clean products. I have told my clients that if you don’t put junk in your body, why put it on your skin, the largest organ that you have.
Spray tanning allows for a healthier alternative to tanning beds and laying in the sun. Plus, you get faster results with no health risks. Double win.
Skin cancer is prominent in my family as well as myself. Looking back, if only I knew then what I know now, I would have never baked my skin in a tanning bed like a fried chicken. I bought my first tiny little machine and began my spray tan journey in the comfort of my home, of course, creating a mess in an all-white bathroom. Loving the instant glow I had, I started to tell my friends and family to try my new services. This led to tanning parties, which eventually started my mobile business, which I had for six years. Being in Houston and fighting traffic for appointments, then led me to take a risk and open up a location in River Oaks. I truly believe when you find your passion in life, you’ll take a risk it to make it all worth it. We truly love our home here and continue to enjoy putting smiles on the faces of our amazing clients, one spray at a time.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My advice to anyone starting out a business, don’t give up. This business grew from an idea that is important to you and with that, it’s going to take time. Research your competition, set out a plan, and follow that blueprint. Of course, you’ll have to rewrite the blueprint several times, but that’s all about learning and trial and error.

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
My most important advice I would give to a female just starting her career is, know your why. There will be days and even periods where there are many bumps in the road. It’s nice to remind yourself of how far you have come and why you started.
