Today we’d like to introduce you to Lala Sewell.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
7th-grade year! I was in middle school. Doing quick styles on my friends in the locker room after practice. I’d charge $5 for braid/ponytail styles. From there, I began styling the older girls got things like Homecoming or Jr Prom. Being that my sister was older, it brought me a lot of clientele. I only charged $10-$40 at the time for the latest hair styles. I took clients in the restroom which was pretty big and spacious for a computer chair and the products I needed for styling. I began school as a pharmacy undergraduate student in the fall of 2012. While in school, I began styling all of my roommate’s hair. This is where I began charging $75 for a sew-in install. This is where my story started.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I struggled with having a place to live. I lived in my car for a month after dropping out of college. Traveling to my clients to do hair.

I specialize in wig installs.
