Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarom In.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I love a good challenge and to think outside the box! SAROM INspired started with an obsessive attention to details and a love for bringing people together. I’m a middle brain, rather than an analytical left or a creative right brain. For example, I have a BA in English Literature with a minor in Biology, but was a Financial Controller for an Oil & Gas company I was at for 10 years… so, it’s safe to say that I can wear multiple hats. I said goodbye to Corporate America in 2012 with the birth of our first child, and I found myself spending my days with “do-it-yourself” projects, crafting, decorating and planning parties. I hosted brunches, playdates and crafting workshops for our neighborhood mom group out of my home for pure enjoyment. I was surprised when friends and family started asking if I could decorate their parties for them or if I could go shopping with them to help decorate their homes. One thing leads to another and SAROM INspired launched!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a journey! Friends and family have said for years that I should start a business. I would just laugh and think “Who would hire me? That’s crazy!” I took the big leap in November 2016 and finally started the business! I created a website, got the domain, purchased the rights to the name (you never know if there is another creative Sarom In out there!) and I was all set to go. Then, a few short months later in February 2017, we had a welcomed surprise: we were expecting our 3rd child! The baby is almost a year old now and SAROM INspired has re-ignited!
My advice would be to learn how to manage your time and find balance. Having three small kids, working from home and a husband who owns his own business as well… you can find yourself stretched for time often. Set time aside for everything and stick to the schedule! Make a list of everything! Excel can be your best friend!

SAROM INspired offers two services: event decorating and home decorating. I find so much joy in creating a unique customized party experience for my clients and creating a living space that is truly yours in your home. I specialize in creating elaborate décor for dessert tables and life-size photo booths to make each client’s event memorable. I find it so rewarding that I could make their dream event or living space come true! I am reminded of why I simply love what I do each time I see my clients’ reactions of huge smiles or tears of joy when they see their event or space for the first time!
Who have you been inspired by?
Believe in yourself, put yourself out there and be confident. I still find myself doubting my work before the big reveal to clients whether it be them seeing the event or new space in their home for the first time… but remember that your clients put their trust in you and they already love your work which is why they contacted you in the first place. Focus on the positive and laugh often.
