Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheena Johnson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a wife and mother of three young men from the east side of Houston,Texas. I came from a family of entrepreneurs, and was molded early in life to work for myself. I graduated from high school with my Cosmetology License and worked as a stylist for 6 years. I was absolutely intrigued by the business side of the industry and started working towards opening my own business. Pinash Beauty Bar was launched in 2009! I quickly learned that entrepreneurship took hard work and dedication.
Shorty after that, my grandparents who owned a struggling transportation company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, offered me a position to run the company. So, with the little business experience I had, I relocated to Wisconsin and ran my family’s company for the next five years. As a result, the company rebounded, grew, and secured the largest contract in private Transportation in the State of Wisconsin. After my grandparents retired, I went on to Co-Own SBGTF LOGISTICS LLC (a semi-trucking company) with my husband, servicing all lower 48 states, Canada and Mexico.
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not! The road had been a tough one and lonely one at times. Not everyone will understand your vision. So they don’t know how to properly support you because they don’t understand. Does it hurt? Of course, you just have to keep moving.
I trusted the wrong people in business, I made partners with no solid operating agreement.
Friends stealing my ideas.
That’s why it’s so important to not only run the business but understand the business.
The advice I’d give going into business is to remember why you started. Don’t give up on yourself, because you are counting on you. Don’t wait for tomorrow, start today.
Stay innovative. Hard work is your best friend. Success isn’t microwave-ready. You’ve got to work it! Develop a Team. You can’t do it all yourself. Don’t share your business ideas with the world.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am the Co-Owner of SBGTF LOGISTICS LLC, a transportation company. I am also the founder of 24 Hr Entrepreneur. Where I teach Entrepreneurs how to start and successfully run their own businesses. I am known for my Transportation Masterclass where you learn everything there is to know about the trucking industry and obtaining you own Authority.
In 2015, we opened Safehouse Realty, where we provide affordable housing for homeless veterans. That’s something I am very proud of.
I am also the founder of Christian women Connect. An organization that gives Christian women the platform to be who God has called them to be freely. Creating a sisterhood of hope , love, support and encouragement. We meet monthly and host a yearly brunch.
I specialize in business. My friends call me the business mastermind. I love to motivate women. I am most proud of seeing the success of the clients and friends that attend our workshops and masterclass. The hope that I am able to give business owners hope.
What sets me apart is that when everyone walks right, I walk left, and I’m proud of that. I go the extra mile. I will not give up and won’t allow those around do to either.
Everyone is a Coach nowadays. I’m not a coach. I am an educator. I consider myself a Business Magnate; an entrepreneur of great influence. I don’t want to capitalize on of the next, I want to educate you so you can keep the capital.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
Indeed! My parents and grandparents set remarkable examples. They also encouraged me to make every decision prayerful and to consult God every step of the way. My support system and role models held me accountable and pushed me through.
