Life and Work with Tiffany Becerra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Becerra.

Tiffany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved everything beauty! I modeled when I was a teen and in 2005, I won a beauty pageant. So, Adara comes naturally to me. In 2017, my family’s life took a big turn. My husband of now 14 years got picked up by the feds in January 2017. I was left with our two daughters and our newborn son. I was lost, I felt alone, I felt like I was slowly drowning. It took me some time to get out of that state of depression and it wasn’t till the summer of 2018 that I was in Colombia that I learned how to do brows and lashes. Seeing the feedback I was getting from my social media I knew I was up to something. In 2014, I had joined a health and wellness mlm which helped me to get to know a lot of people and build many new friendships. I’ve always worked, started off in the corporate world and then moved on to mlm. Things kind of slowed down with that business with my 3rd pregnancy due to complications and then I eventually quit when everything happened with my husband. In September of 2018, I started Adara and in October, I started school at Aveda. I graduated and became Licensed in April 2019. Little by little, I’ve been able to build up my clientele thanks to my social media, networking events and of course, word of mouth. This is only the beginning and I’m so thankful to everyone who has supported me in this journey. Everything happens for a reason and God never gives you more than you can handle! My husband and I both have grown so much through this situation that in reality, it’s preparing us for the big blessings we have coming our way.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road but the key is to never lose sight of your why. Why did you start? Why are you doing it? My struggles was literally starting from scratch in every aspect. Alone with three kids is not easy at all but once you decide you are NOT a victim and see it as a learning experience things change. It’s all about perspective. My husband was sent away. I lost my house, my car had to sell a lot of things to keep going but all that are material things that at the end of the day don’t matter. What matters is my kids are healthy my husband is alive I can still hear his voice. Things that can’t be replaced is what matters. Once you realize you already have everything you need to succeed and keep going, you are unstoppable. The most important thing is to believe in yourself, pray and have faith. Like my husband says. This is a YES universe, claim it, believe it and it’s yours! You are not stuck you just have to decide to move forward and not look back. Growth is a beautiful thing.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Adara Advanced Aesthetics – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a licensed esthetician and I love helping and educating people about skin. It’s our biggest ORGAN we need to take care of it. I struggle with hormonal acne myself so as I learn how to clear it, I help others do the same. I love when I’m done with the facials and they immediately see and feel the difference in their skin. I’m very good at extractions. I love getting everything out! I’m an open book and that’s what makes me different I love help, motivate and educate when I can! My energy is very unique and it is what other people feel when they interact with me. My attention to pay attention to even the smallest of details.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that a lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
Yes, find someone or people that inspire you and you would like to learn from. Reach out to them let them know you are new to the industry and love their work and what not they love to share what they know. Research finds ways to stay in what’s new. Networking is key you never know who the person you meet knows and can connect you to them and so on and so forth. Always be open to learning.
