Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliah Aerial
Hi Aliah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a knack for creative hobbies such as writing, crafting, taking pictures, and recording videos. My love for digital creation was developed by my parents. During my senior year of high school, my parents gifted me a pink Kodak digital camera and that’s where my love for pictures and videos started. I took my camera with me on my Senior Trip and snapped pictures and videos of everyone and everything throughout the trip!
Over the years, I have continued to record videos and capture photographic memories of my life. I went from recording on my Kodak digital camera to my iPhone, and as of today, I have two digital cameras that I use to document my life.
In terms of digital content creation, I started recording beauty and hair videos on the floor of my college apartment. Today, I have collaborated with brands such as Good Molecules, Good American, Beetles Nails, Zeelol, and Dorrìn Beauty.
My love for digital content birthed my current love for traveling. So far, I’ve visited over 8 international countries! In 2019, my friends and I founded a travel company, Grown and Gone, in 2019. We hosted one international group trip before closing the business in 2020 due to Covid. I document all my travels on my travel instagram, @aerialsview, as well as my Youtube channel, Aliah Aerial.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has not been smooth, but it hasn’t been particularly difficult either!
My biggest challenge thus far has been navigating consistency and scheduling while also working a full-time job in the health field. Overcoming procrastination and staying consistent is the journey I am currently embarking on!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science degree in Communication Disorders, also known as Speech-Language Pathology. I work full-time as a Speech-Language Pathologist treating children from ages 2-15 years old. I specialize in Early Intervention, Language Disorders, Articulation and Motor Disorders, and Alternative-Augmentative Communication Devices.
Working in the field of Speech-Language Pathology is a mixture of research (science) and creativity. So, I get to feed my nerdy side as well as my creative side, haha!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The field of Speech-Language Pathology is ever-growing! In 5-10 years, I can see a greater need for more specialized Speech-Language Pathologists in every area.
Content creation is growing now and I project that it will be even larger in the next 5-10 years. Brands are constantly on the hunt for creatives to promote their companies.
