Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Patel.
Hi Alisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As I was in undergrad at the University of Houston, I was introduced into the world of the wedding industry. I was apart of a wedding planning team as a coordinator, but from there I was also introduced into the content world of weddings. I have always loved to be creative when it comes to social media as I get to be myself and just put pieces together as I see fit together. As I started capturing content at previous weddings I worked as a coordinator, I thought a lot about the “what if” I started this content journey as my own. I immediately started to think of my company name, my logo, and etc, but the biggest thing that scared me was balance. As a student who was about to graduate undergrad, and go straight into graduate school for my MHA/MBA, it was a lot to think about, but to this day, it was not a decision I regretted. The amount of support I got from my family and other vendors, pushed me even more to pursue this journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To be honest, no it has not been. If I did not have Apna (@treslechesbyapna), by my side, I would be here so far in my journey. I didn’t know where to start, how to gain clients, or how to put myself out there because I have always been an introvert. That was when I knew I had to start researching on what steps I needed to take to meet new people, and new vendors.
It started a lot with self-doubt and comparing my work to other creators, but that is when I realized that every creator has their own style of work. There would also be times where I would spend all my time creating a reel where I envisioned it looking amazing, but then it would not turn out the way I wanted it to.
The other challenge was balancing for sure. With school assignment deadlines, other life commitments, working an internship at the time I started my company, it was a lot. Meeting deadlines, communicating with clients, pricing my services, and constantly keeping up with social media trends takes a lot more work than people realize. I’ve also had to learn that not every client or opportunity is the right fit, and that’s okay.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve always been passionate about creating meaningful experiences, whether that’s in healthcare or through digital storytelling. I recently started working full-time as a Patient Care Coordinator at an orthopedic clinic, and I’m incredibly excited to begin my professional career in healthcare, especially since it aligns with what I’ve been studying in graduate school. Every day, I have the opportunity to interact with patients, support their care, and continue developing skills in communication, organization, and healthcare operations.
At the same time, I’ve continued growing my content creation business, which has become such an important part of who I am. From weddings and special events to healthcare clinics and local businesses, I love capturing moments and turning them into content that connects with people.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve built my content creation business while still pursuing my education full-time and now starting my full-time career. It hasn’t always been easy balancing everything, but it has taught me discipline, creativity, and the importance of stepping outside my comfort zone. Rather than giving up one passion for another, I’ve found a way to pursue both.
I think what sets me apart is my ability to combine creativity with professionalism. My background in healthcare has strengthened my communication, empathy, and attention to detail, while content creation has helped me think strategically, adapt quickly, and understand how to connect with different audiences. Whether I’m helping a patient feel supported or helping a client bring their vision to life, my goal is always the same: to make a positive impact through meaningful connections.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is living a life with purpose and continuing to grow. I believe growth comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone, embracing new opportunities, and never limiting yourself to one path. That’s something I’ve tried to carry with me throughout my life, whether it’s pursuing graduate school, beginning my career in healthcare, or building my content creation business.
I also value the relationships I build with people. No matter what I’m doing, I want people to feel seen, supported, and appreciated. In healthcare, that means helping patients feel comfortable during what can be a stressful time. Through content creation, it means helping clients celebrate milestones and tell their stories in a way they’ll always remember.
Most importantly, I want to look back and know I made a positive impact. Success isn’t just about titles or achievements to me—it’s about continuously learning, creating meaningful connections, and using my skills to make a difference in the lives of others while staying true to who I am.
