Hi Alondra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started with just a few brushes and one eyeshadow palette, thinking it was just a hobby—but it quickly turned into a passion. At 18, while working at a law firm, I was inspired by the women around me and began practicing makeup every night until I mastered my craft.
A year later, friends began asking me to do their makeup and hair for events, and what started as small requests grew into something bigger. While continuing my career in law, I launched a YouTube channel and eventually took a leap of faith in 2016-2017 to pursue makeup and hair full-time.
Becoming a mom and navigating COVID brought challenges, but I stayed dedicated and rebuilt my business stronger than before. With hard work, support from my husband, and belief in myself, I’ve grown into the artist I am today—and I’m excited for what’s next for iluvchantalle.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges in my journey with hair and makeup has been learning to block out negativity. At times, the hurtful words of others made me question myself, feel discouraged, and even consider giving up on a dream I’ve worked so hard for. Another challenge has been finding a village to help with my daughters. Their dad and I both work hard, and not always having support for childcare has been difficult. Through it all, I’ve continued to push forward with faith, strength, and determination.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an Elite Hair & Makeup Artist with 10 years of experience, specializing in bridal parties, quinceañeras, and all special events that call for glam. I’m known not only for my talent and professionalism, but for the heart and personality behind iluvchantalle.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come, for never giving up on my dream, and for every client who chooses me. What sets me apart is who I am—bilingual, welcoming, and nonjudgmental—making every person who sits in my chair feel beautiful and valued.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I appreciate that our city offers opportunities for everyone to grow within the beauty community. Because of its size, there is space for businesses to thrive and build their presence. What I like least is that it can be challenging to stand out in such a large market, but it is also incredibly rewarding to know you were chosen among so many talented professionals
