Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasia Osho.
Hi Anastasia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
First, I want to sincerely thank VoyageHouston for inviting me back to share my story once again. It’s truly an honor to be featured in your “Inspiring Stories” series. I’m grateful that you continue to create a platform that celebrates the journeys of entrepreneurs, artists, and changemakers throughout our community. Every chapter of my life has taught me something new, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to reflect on that growth and share what God has been doing in my life and career. I hope my story encourages your readers to keep believing, keep persevering, and never lose sight of the purpose placed on their lives.
My journey as an artist began long before I ever stepped onto a stage. I started writing songs at 12 years old, and by 15, I was sharing my original music with others. For more than 30 years, songwriting has been one of the ways I’ve processed life, strengthened my faith, and encouraged others.
My path hasn’t been a straight line. I’ve experienced seasons of deep hardship, including a turbulent childhood and becoming a two-time cancer survivor. Those experiences could have left me bitter, but instead they became the foundation of my purpose. They taught me that healing is possible, hope is powerful, and God can bring beauty from even the most painful chapters of our lives.
Today, I’m a faith-based Christian and Contemporary Gospel artist, songwriter, actress, playwright, and inspirational storyteller whose music blends Gospel with Pop, Rock, and Soul. Every song I write is created with the hope that someone will feel seen, encouraged, and reminded that they are truly loved by God.
Over the past few years, I’ve watched doors open that I once only prayed for. I’ve released new original music, expanded my ministry beyond the walls of the church, performed for new audiences, and continued building my career as an independent artist. Most recently, I released my single, “Heaven or Hell”, a song that invites listeners to think about eternity while pointing them toward the hope found in Jesus Christ. I’ve also had the privilege of performing at events like “Beats On The Bayou” at East River, and TABSE’s “HerINSPIRED” at Texas Southern University, where I was able to encourage people through music.
Looking back, I realize that success has taken on a different meaning for me. Early on, I thought success was about reaching milestones. Now, I understand that it’s about impact. If one song helps someone keep going, strengthens their faith, or reminds them that they have purpose, then I’ve accomplished what I believe God called me to do.
I’m still writing my story, but one thing hasn’t changed since I wrote my very first song, my desire to use every gift God has given me to bring hope, healing, and encouragement to others. I believe music has the power to open hearts, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to share that message with the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
One of the most difficult seasons of my life came at what should have been one of my happiest moments. On November 1, 2026, I released my original Christmas song, “Merry Christmas”, which I dedicated to my mother and my older sister. It was a labor of love and a celebration of family. The very next day, on November 2, I lost my mother.
Nothing could have prepared me for that kind of heartbreak. Grieving someone you love so deeply changes you. There were moments when it would have been understandable to step away from music for a while, but I felt God reminding me that my purpose hadn’t changed. If anything, it became even more important.
Instead of allowing grief to silence me, I chose to keep going.
During that difficult time, I recorded “Glad”, an anthem celebrating the joy of discovering the unconditional love of God. It was a reminder to myself that joy isn’t the absence of pain. It can exist even in the midst of it.
I followed that with “Praise Him”, a Latin-inspired celebration of God’s mercy, and “Magnify The Lord”, an energetic invitation for people to lift His name with joyful, wholehearted praise. Recording and releasing each song became another step in my own healing journey and another opportunity to encourage others who may be walking through difficult seasons of their own.
Looking back, I realize those releases weren’t just songs, but they were declarations of faith. They reminded me that worship isn’t reserved for life’s mountaintops. Sometimes the most powerful praise and worship comes from the valleys.
Life has taught me that faith doesn’t eliminate hardship, but it gives us the strength to keep moving forward. My journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has deepened my compassion, strengthened my resolve, and reinforced my commitment to creating music that brings hope and points people to the love of God.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a faith-based singer/songwriter, recording and performing artist, actress, playwright, and inspirational storyteller. At the heart of everything I create is my mission to point people to the love of God while reminding them that hope, healing, and purpose are possible through Jesus Christ and the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit.
Musically, I don’t fit neatly into one box. My sound blends Christian and Contemporary Gospel with Pop, Rock, Soul, and other influences to create music that is both uplifting and relatable. Whether it’s the joyful anthem ”Glad”, the Latin-inspired celebration ”Praise Him”, the high-energy praise of ”Magnify The Lord”, or the thought-provoking rock anthem ”Heaven or Hell”, every song is different because every song was intentionally crafted to reach a certain listener.
What I’m most proud of isn’t simply releasing music, but hearing how my music impacts people. When someone tells me a song gave them hope, strengthened their faith, or helped them through a difficult season, that’s the greatest reward I could ever receive. Those moments remind me that my calling is much bigger than entertainment.
I also take great pride in building my career as an independent artist. From writing my songs to overseeing my creative vision and growing my brand, I’ve learned to wear many hats while remaining true to the message God has placed on my heart. Every opportunity, every performance, and every release has been built on joy, hope, perseverance, and faith.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t just want people to hear my music, I want them to be inspired to love God and trust Him with their hearts and lives. My songs are conversations, invitations, and declarations of hope. Whether I’m singing on stage, writing a song, or sharing my testimony, my goal is always the same. I want every single person to feel encouraged, seen, and reminded that they are deeply loved by God and have a purpose beyond their imagination.
If my music helps someone take one step closer to hope, healing, and Christ, then I’ve done exactly what I was created to do.
As I look ahead, I’m incredibly excited about what’s next. I’m currently working on my upcoming full-length album, “Glad”, a project that represents years of growth, faith, perseverance, and creativity. Every song tells a different story, but together they share one message that no matter what you’ve faced, there is hope in the love of God.
My prayer is that “Glad” doesn’t just become another album people listen to. I hope it becomes an experience that encourages hearts, strengthens faith, and reminds people that joy is still possible, even after life’s greatest challenges.
