Today we’d like to introduce you to Beata Bober-Gorzkowski.
Hi Beata, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Poland and at 19 moved to New York City. In middle school, my art teacher told me I did not have one artistic bone in my body.
For many years I only considered myself a creative person as creativity and art always drew me in. After my two sons were a bit older I truly gave it a shot and with the support of my boys and my husband, I decided to truly give it a go.
Today I must say art is a form of therapy for me and without it, I could not be fully happy.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Everyone has bumps in the road I did too. Mine came in a form of lupus. Dealing with my health issues has been a struggle at times. I’m always finding happiness in my family, animals, and my studio.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The inspiration for my art is natural earth elements like crystals, geodes, and stones. Using resin allows me to truly get the look I’m going for.
I use many different mediums to create the look I want incorporating real authentic crystals and gems. In my collections, you will find a lot of functional art for home decor as I always wanted to be versatile and be sure anyone could own my work.
How do you define success?
Success to me is waking up each day doing what you love and being surrounded by my family.
