Life & Work with Brandon Diaz of The Woodlands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Diaz.

Brandon Diaz

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a Filmmaker originally from Dallas, TX. My first passion growing up was music. I was involved with music performance from 6th grade through high school and even the beginning of my college career. After receiving my associate degree in audio engineering, I had the opportunity to intern at a recording studio in Dallas. Mixing and tracking music was a dream come true, but I still felt like there was something more for me and the career I wanted to build.

In 2017, my ambitions took me back to school to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communication. It was in the pursuit of this degree that I picked up a camera and began to experience life through a new lens (no pun intended). Upon graduating, I was ready to take on the visual arts industry as a freelance photographer/videographer. Simultaneously, my circle of friends had become a family of creatives with a vision to impact our communities through media. Storytelling is powerful, and my passion is to put people in their element and help them share their story with the world.

For the past 7 years, this passion has taken me all over the world, capturing audio, photos, and videos of the most beautiful people of various backgrounds. From testimonials to weddings to sporting events, real estate, and fashion, I’ve been blessed to have many opportunities to grow as a filmmaker, photographer, audio engineer, and visual storyteller. After spending a year working in Kansas City, I followed my beautiful best friend (now wife) to Houston in January of 2023, and I couldn’t be happier to be back in Texas and bring the stories of Houstonians to life!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a contract worker, there are seasons where the extra income is a blessing, but also seasons where it fluctuates, and I’m required to step out of our comfort zone. These are moments that have taught me to be proactive, believe in myself, and trust God to provide. At times, it’s been very uncomfortable and stressful, but also the most rewarding. I simply love people and the art of capturing their stories, that ultimately helps to bring us closer together as a society.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I take pride in being a creative and customer-focused professional with multi-media, production, marketing, and content creation experience. I’m an expert in audio engineering, videography, graphic design, and photo capture/enhancement with multiple editing softwares.

My eye for molding light and unique ear for music aids in producing stunning visuals that inspire, impact, and compel audiences into action. I would say that I have a unique approach to storytelling that supersedes a single style but rather caters to the story and goals of each individual project.

Storytelling is my passion, and I’m blessed to be able to share my perspectives with the world!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I would say that rather than luck, my faith in God has been foundational in my success as a content creator. I believe that all things work for our good, even in the bleakest of circumstances. Failures are learning opportunities and help to build character. While success brings reassurance that I’m moving in the right direction.
