Life & Work with Brenton Reed of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenton Reed.

Hi Brenton, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Brenton Reed I grew up in a single parent household with my younger brother raised by my hardworking mom. Growing up she would have to work a lot so I would tend to get in trouble at school and out with fighting. At the age of 21 my son was born and around the same time I started training mma, but around 23 i converted to boxing. I was training but still living a life of trouble on and off. But the hunger to wanna get better be better I needed a life change. About couple years in I realized this was what I’ve wanted since I was a kid to be a fighter professionally. So I stopped doing the things I was and locked in like never before. A lot of people told me no your too old to be a boxer you started to late. I let it get to me for a little but I prayed on top of sacrificing anything that would get in the way, aswell as put in the work. I was told by coaches and everything your to old to turn pro etc. But I didn’t listen and began to train harder and harder. I knew in my mind i wanted this and I wanted to show that regardless of you upbringing or age if you really want to achieve something you can. But only if I gave my life to bettering myself in the sport of boxing but ultimately bettering myself for my son and family. Fast forward to last year 2025 I met the boxing promotions Texas Combat Sports and they believed in me blindly and gave me a shot to debut professionally May 20th 2025. And in doing so I recorded one of the fastest KOs in boxing history with a 20 second KO. I continued to train harder even after achieving everything I’ve ever wanted in my dreams of just becoming a professional fighter. And I’m now going into my fourth professional boxing match with a record of 2-1(2KOs) and a 100% KO rating. I’ve been so extremely grateful and I still have a lot more work to do but I try to be a role model for my son and let him know there’s “nothing” you can’t do in this world but you have to really want it and make the sacrifices.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No I struggled with legal troubles. Health issues, failed relationship due to me giving all my time to boxing. And I can’t even stress how hard it was to find someone to give me a chance. But I started from scratch and knew that in trying to achieve anything there will be challenges and difficulties but work harder pray and never lose sight of the goal.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a professional boxer aswell as a certified trained actor/model.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
To lock in now sooner than later. And to never give up, life threw everything and the kitchen sink at me but I wouldn’t budge. NEVER EVER GIVE UP!
