Today, we’d like to introduce you to Carlos J. Malave.
Hi Carlos, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, dancing was a huge part of my childhood. And everyone around me could dance. Whether it was Salsa, Merengue, or Bachata, when the music turned on, no matter the vibe, people danced circles around each other. This happens so often that the behavior is transferred to different aspects of our lives.
Instead of being direct, I learned to dance around my issues with people. Well, the dancing stops now! My mission is to help audiences develop strategies to identify personal limits and prioritize self-care. I am the author of “Translating Your Success” and the visionary developer behind the Restorative Power Program.
With a background rooted in over a decade of teaching experience in K-12 education, I have seamlessly transitioned into a dynamic and passionate speaker, curriculum writer, and coach.
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I am the son of a father who struggled with traditional masculinity and the pressures of society. My father did his best but could never defeat his demeans; tragically, in 2019, my father took his own life.
From that moment, this became my WHY. Through my programs, I teach the audience how to confront trauma, break generational patterns, and change the narrative of masculinity through powerful engagements.
My mission is to help our young men find the power in their vulnerability and use it to their advantage toward a successful life.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
