Today we’d like to introduce you to Charissa Wylie.

Hi Charissa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Food was always at the center of most of our family gatherings and celebrations. One of the easiest things to throw together growing up was a “meat and cheese board” so I started experimenting with different cheeses and ways to display everything. This was even before the Charcuterie craze! People started looking forward to my Charcuterie boards and creations. Finally in 2020, I decided to take my mom’s advice and introduce the world to Elegant Eats by starting an Instagram Page and it just took off from there. Now I not only make Charcuterie Boards & Grazing Tables but I started teaching multiple Charcuterie Classes a month to help people learn how to put together their own boards for their friends and family!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, it’s been pretty smooth sailing so far. That’s not to say that there haven’t been a few bumps in the road along the way but it’s all about learning to manage the busy schedules and remembering to have fun with it all. This business is mainly about celebrations so it’s hard to have a bad day. I get to make delicious boards for some of my client’s biggest life moments. Weddings, Baby Showers, Milestone Birthdays…that’s what keeps me going!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
One of the items that I never thought would be my biggest seller and what I have come to be known for are Candy Charcuteries! I was the first in the area to offer individual Candy Charcuterie Cones. These are so much fun because the customization options are endless. And they’re not just for kid’s parties! Adults love these too!! In addition to the Candy Charcuterie Cones, I am also known for creating the most beautiful individual portioned Charcuterie Cups and Cones. They’re perfect for large gatherings and even gifting!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’d like to think that I have some pretty good Karma because I have had some great luck so far in the business. I have been lucky to meet some amazing people in the wedding and party industry that have been able to help me network my business and help it grow.
