Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Martinez
Christian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Im Christian Martinez also known as Obeykhriz, I started painting around 8 yrs ago when I got invited to an art show called Surreal Houston at the Hardy and Nance studios close to Downtown. The art show was a success with a full house. From there started going to more art shows around Houston and also have showcased some paintings in San Antonio. Also, I have been selling some of my pieces internationally to different countries like Spain, Switzerland, Mexico, Colombia, Canada among others.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Its been smooth thankfully everything coming together piece by piece and of course nothing comes easy theres been struggles like in other professions or when you want to do something big, but at the end everything smooth focusing and trusting the process.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Contemporary-Pop artist I focused on painting Contemporary Pop art and try to upgrade each time this style with something better every time. I want my paintings to leave a mark In the art world. I’m known mostly for my style and since I was one of the first artist to do this kind of art. Also done some murals in Downtown Houston that have been shown on the local news. Im proud of the amount of paintings sold and that I also like to give back and have donated some paintings for good causes like for the University of Houston for scholarships for students. What sets me apart from others its that no matter what I keep pushing to keep growing and hopefully one day become one of the most well known and successful artist of the century.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters the most for me its art to keep growing on that and also Family I think thats some of the most important things that matter to me the most at the moment.
