Life & Work with Cindy Rubio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Rubio.

Hi Cindy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I spent many weekends and summers at my Mom’s salon. I grew in love with the beauty industry. I vividly remember in the second grade, my teacher asked us to draw what we wanted to be when we grow up. I drew a 3 story salon. My desire to make people feel good never went away. I worked as a cosmetology instructor for 5 years, and I loved it! I opened my studio in 2020, and it has its up and down but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I can’t wait to see myself and my brand grow into what I’ve always dreamed of.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was definitely tough and scary! I decided to open a studio during the pandemic, so rent would be due regardless if shutdowns would occur. But I had its now or never mind set. I knew that opening your business came with challenges which I was ready to take on. Cancellation and rescheduling never feel good, but it’s a part of the business. I know growths isn’t comfortable which I’m all for!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in transforming really dark hair into blondes. I’m proud to know my clients still leave with healthy hair. What sets me apart is when you are in my studio, I only focus on my client. I’m not working on multiple people. I make sure you feel comfortable at all times. I also take pride in walking my guest through my process.Which a lot of my client’s really like! I just want to make sure you have a great experience from beginning to end. And always want to come back .

What matters most to you?
The integrity of the hair! Because although hair grows back, you should always have wearable hair. Our hair is our Crown and it should always look good.
