Life & Work with DaleLynn Settle

Today we’d like to introduce you to DaleLynn Settle.

DaleLynn Settle

Hi DaleLynn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In January 2014, my life took a devastating turn when my 34-year-old sister tragically passed away from an aortic dissection. At the time, I was 302 pounds, unaware of how I had reached that point amidst life’s challenges. Losing Nikki was unimaginable, and for eight weeks, we grappled with the shock of her sudden departure. It wasn’t until the medical examiner’s call revealed that her high blood pressure had caused her aortic rupture, leading to her demise within seconds, that the reality truly sank in.

Her passing shook me to the core. At 27, a stay-at-home mom feeling lost, searching for my purpose, I knew I needed to make a change. Over the next 10 years, as I coped with the grief of losing my sister, I embarked on a transformative journey. In January 2019, my weight loss story caught the attention of People magazine, shedding light on my 131-pound weight loss since 2014. Inspired by Nikki’s unfinished dreams, particularly as a mother of three, I founded ‘Bee Her Now,’ driven by the belief in embracing our true selves in the present.

Despite the demands of motherhood to my five children, aged four to 15, and a full-time job at their school, I pursued my passion for helping others reclaim their lives. Becoming a certified personal trainer and launching a meal prep company were just the beginning. Venturing into public speaking, I share my journey of resilience and reinvention worldwide.

My story goes beyond weight loss; it encompasses moments of sacrifice and triumph. From donating my kidney in 2021 to navigating divorce and earning my college degree last year, almost 20 years after

high school, I’ve learned firsthand that no obstacle is insurmountable. My journey stands as a testament to the boundless possibilities that await when we dare to reclaim our power and rewrite our own narrative.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been an easy journey. I’ve battled through depression, endured the pain of divorce, and faced the uncertainty of not having a place to call my own after my marriage ended. I dealt with feelings of isolation from friends and family and underwent challenging spiritual growth, often experiencing painful moments along the way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a professional speaker, my primary goal is to deeply connect with my audience, which predominantly consists of females, ranging from young women to teenagers and even little girls, as well as older women. However, what sets me apart is that my message goes beyond gender boundaries. While I share stories of fitness, determination, and resilience, it resonates with young men, too. I’m not just a speaker; I’m a PERSONAL speaker, sharing candidly from my heart and personal experiences. My mission is clear: to inspire those who may have lost sight of themselves, reminding them that life’s journey continues beyond any age, loss, or failed relationship. There’s life after!

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is the legacy and impact I leave on my children. To me, it’s not just about achieving personal success but about instilling values, nurturing passions, and empowering them to make a positive difference in the world. Beyond my own family, I’m deeply committed to helping others realize the importance of leaving a meaningful legacy. In today’s world, where fame often overshadows true influence, I believe it’s crucial to emphasize the significance of the impact we have on others’ lives. When I reflect on my own legacy, I focus on the values, goals, and passions that I pass on to future generations. Ultimately, it’s not about what I accumulate in this life but about the lasting impression I leave behind.
